Daddy put the box on the table and opened it up. Inside was an envelope and a lot of food! Daddy read the letter from the envelope. “May you be happy!” Paragraph2: Mama and Daddy looked at each other, and she unpacked the food from the box. The first thing was a big can of pork and beans. Buddy Earl’s eyes went wide. “An angel came to our door today,” Mama said as she pulled out a big box of Sugar Crisp. With gratitude, we had a happy Christmas. Not long after the festival, Daddy was called back to work. My sister recovered from her illness. I even received a new coat, which was thicker than my old one and kept me warm. B。 Available on our website, tickets are timed on arrival(在 我们的网站上可以购买到,到达时,票面会打上时间。) The time item tells you when to enter the gardens.(这个时间条目告诉你什么时间入园)。 第三段讲的是园内咖啡馆食品外带服务,提供 hot & cold drinks, our famous home-made scones, a selection of tray bakes and freshly made sandwiches 吃喝之物。 Moved to contactless/card payments only. 故选 A。 https://www.bnd.com/news/nation-world/national/article61051177.html D One more common trap is when to use farther and further。 37. D,Luckily there's an easy trick to remember the difference。 38.选 A。 A,However, further is used for abstract concepts。 39. G,Take the sentence “the writer got farther in her poem” for example。 40. (If you still get them mixed up, don't let it bother you too much.)B 选项(With the tips above, you will never be confused)是干扰项, 但 B 选项与表示转折意思的后句(After all ...) Text 1 M: Come in, Lily! What’s up? W: My speech on Monday is not good enough. Can I do again, Sir? M: Of course. But I’m busy on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday should be fine. W: Thank you, Sir. Text 2 W: Good afternoon! M: Good afternoon! W: Did John call you about his job interview? M: No, but he sent me an email about the result. Text 3 M: Alice! Alice! Wake up! Don’t cry! W: Oh. What a terrible dream! A huge dog was running after me in the dark street, but I couldn’t move. M: Don’t worry. It was just a dream. Go back to sleep. W: All right! Text 4 W: Here are several flats. Do you prefer two bedrooms or just one bedroom? M: It doesn’t matter. I just want one close to my office. W: How about this one? Look at the pictures. It is not far from your office. M: It looks nice. Text 5 W: It’s convenient to shop here. This supermarket has almost everything we want. M: Yes. And the food is so fresh. W: It’s close to our home, so we don’t have to drive a car. M: Yes, it’s really convenient. Text 6 M:I was late for school today. W:Why?What happened? M:I took the bus. There was a road accident, and the traffic was very heavy. But nobody was late, except me. Maybe I should go to school by taxi. W:It’s the most comfortable way, but it’s also the most expensive. And taxis are very slow in heavy traffic too. M:Then what about going by bike? W:That’s a good choice, but it’s a bit dangerous. There’s so much traffic. M:But most of my classmates ride bikes, and it’s quite safe. Don’t worry, I will be careful. Text 7 W: Hello. Is that Jim speaking? M: Yes, who is that? W: This is Linfang speaking. What are you doing, Jim? M: I’m helping my parents preparing for our journey. W: Journey?Where are you going? M: We're going to London next week for a holiday. W: Oh. That’s great. I hope you enjoy your journey. M: Thank you! Well, Linfang. Could you do something for me, please? W: Certainly! What would you like me to do? M: Well, we couldn’t take Polly, the bird with us. Could you take care of her for me while we are away? W: With pleasure! Text 8 W: I’d like to go dancing with Jane. But she’s hurt her ankle so she’d rather not. M: I guess it means she doesn’t want to play tennis, either. W: That’s right. She says it’s OK to go bowling if we don’t expect her to do well. M: Let’s do it! I guess we can go dancing another time. W: Well, I booked us some time at the bowling center of Entertainment City. M: What time did you book for? W: The first booking I could get was 8 o’clock. M: It’s 7 now. What do you want to do first? W: Well, I think we should leave now. M: I can’t be that quick. I have to make a phone call to my mum, and I need to get changed. W: OK. I think I’ll leave in ten minutes. M: I’ll take my car, so I’ll be quite quick. I’ll be out of here in half an hour. W: OK. You’re so lucky to have a car! You can get around so easily. M: Well, yes and no. I often spend ages driving around trying to find a car park. Text 9 W: Have you heard that the former American president, Barack Obama’s daughter Malia Obama would be attending Harvard University after she graduates from high school? M: Then she will be following her father’s footsteps? W: Yes. But, before she buries herself in those books in Harvard University, she’ll be taking a year’s break. M: What will she do? W: Her parents said they didn’t know what she planned to do, but perhaps it would have something to do with Hollywood. M: Cool. Lisa, do you want to take one year’s break before going to the university? W: No. By the way, my dream school is Yale University. What about you? M: For me, no school is better than Oxford University. W: Right. What did you get in our final exams? M: I got an F in math. It’s too difficult for me. I did better in other subjects, 3 As and 2 Bs. What about you? W: I failed in history, but I got an A in science. Text 10 W: Good evening, everyone. In tonight's show I'll talk about Stephen and Jenny's Corryvale Farm and their business. Corryvale Farm is in the west of England. Stephen and Jenny keep cows and chickens and sell milk and eggs. But most of their money comes from Jenny's sheep. She has 50 sheep and each one has enough wool for for sweaters. Every six months, Stephen cuts the wool off the sheep so they won’t get too warm. One year ago, Jenny made some sweaters with the wool and tried to sell them at country markets. But it was summer and the weather was hot so people didn’t want to buy sweaters. She then made some socks. Everybody loved them because they were strong, not expensive and easy to wash. That's how Jenny’s business started. At first she made the socks at home, but soon she had thousands of customers so she had to send the wool to a factory, where all the socks are now made on machines. There are six colors, five sizes for all ages, and different socks for walkers, sportsmen and skiers. Jenny is busiest at Christmas because Corryvale socks are a favorite present. On the wall of Jenny's office, there are lots of letters from happy customers all over the world.
