same resolution they started 2013 with,a goal of ‎____________________________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎ losing weight. However, setting weight loss as a goal is a mistake.‎ To reach our goal of losing weight—the output,we need to control what we eat—the input(输入).That is,we tend to care about the output but not to control the input. This is a bad way to construct goals. The alternative is to focus your resolution on the input.Instead of resolving to lose weight, try an actionable resolution:“I’ll stop having dessert for lunch,”or “I’ll walk every day for 20 minutes.”Creating a goal that focuses on a well-specified input will likely be more effective than concentrating on the outcome.‎ Recently a new science behind incentives(激励),including in education, has been discussed. For example, researcher Roland Fryer wanted to see what works best in motivating children to do better in school. In some cases,he gave students incentives based on input, like reading certain books, while in others, the incentives were based on output, like results on exams. His main finding was that incentives increased achievement when based on input but had no effect when based on output.Fryer’s conclusion was that the incentives for inputs might be more effective because students do not know how to do better on an exam, aside from general rules like “study harder”.Reading certain books,on the other hand,is a well-set task over which they have much more control.‎ As long as you have direct control over your goal, you have a much higher chance of success. And it’s easier to start again if you fail, because you know exactly what you need to do.‎ If you want to cut down on your spending,a good goal would be making morning coffee at home instead of going to a café,for example. This is a well-specified action-based goal for which you can measure your success easily.Spending less money isn’t a goal because it’s too general.Similarly,if you want to spend more time with your family, don’t stop with this general wish.Think about an actionable habit that you could adopt and stick to,like a family movie night every Wednesday.‎ In the long run, these new goals could become a habit.‎ ‎56.The writer thinks that setting weight loss as a goal is a mistake because______.‎ A.it is hard to achieve for most Americans B.it is focused too much on the result C.it is dependent on too many things D.it is based on actionable decisions ‎57.In Roland Fryer’s research, some students did better than the others because______.‎ A.they obeyed all the general rules B.they paid more attention to exams C.they were motivated by their classmates D.they were rewarded for reading some books ‎58.According to the writer, which of the following statements is a good goal?‎ A.“I’ll give up dessert.”‎ B.“I’ll study harder.”‎ C.“I’ll cut down my expenses.”‎ D.“I’ll spend more time with my family.”‎ ‎59.The writer strongly believes that we should______.‎ A.develop good habits and focus on the outcome B.be optimistic about final goals and stick to them C.pick specific actions that can be turned into good habits ‎____________________________________________________________________________________________‎ D.set ambitious goals that can balance the input and output B Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium(水族馆)‎ The a negative experience, but a new study suggests it can have positive results including an increase in creativity because it gives us time to daydream.‎ That is the finding of Dr. Sandi Mann from the University of Central Lancashire. Dr. Mann conducted two studies. In the first experiment, 40 people were asked to carry out a boring task. They were told to copy numbers out of a telephone directory for 15 minutes. After that they were asked to complete another task. A pair of cups were given to each of them. Everyone tried to come up with different uses of the cups, and was given a chance to display their creativity. Meanwhile, another group of 40 people were just asked to come up with uses for the cups without doing any boring tasks before. It turned out that the 40 people who had first copied out the telephone numbers were more creative than the control group(对照组).‎ To see if daydreaming was a factor in this effect, a second boring task was introduced that allowed even more daydreaming than the boring writing task. This second study saw 30 people copying out the numbers as before, but also included a second group of 30 reading rather than writing them.‎ Again the researchers found that the people in the control group were least creative, but the people who had just read the names were more creative than those who had to write them out. This suggests that more passive boring activities, like reading or perhaps attending meetings, can lead to more creativity. Compared with reading, writing reduced the scope(范围) for daydreaming. As a result, it reduces the effects of boredom on creativity. ‎ Dr. Mann says: “Boredom at work has always been seen as something to be avoided, but perhaps we should accept it in order to promote our creativity. What we want to do next is to see what the practical implications of this finding are. Do people who are bored at work become more creative in other areas of their work -- or do they go home and write novels?”  ‎ ‎64. Who proved to be the most creative in the two studies?‎ A. The people who attended meetings. ‎ B. The people who did the reading task.‎ C. The people who invented uses for cups.‎ D. The people who copied telephone numbers.‎ ‎65. The studies conducted by Dr. Mann indicate that creativity results from _______.‎ A. creative tasks B. controlled activities C. the range of daydreaming D. reading and writing ability ‎66. What is Dr. Mann’s attitude towards boredom at work?‎ ‎____________________________________________________________________________________________‎ A. Positive. ‎ B. Skeptical.‎ C. Subjective.‎ D. Disapproving.‎ D For career(职业) changers thinking about growth and advancement potential, forget the blue-collar and white-collar categories: Green is the way to go. According to Bracken Hendricks, a senior fellow at the Center for Global Progress, careers that promote environmental responsibility will become main stream within a decade. “The growth in green careers will be like the Internet boom, which not only created new jobs, but also had an influence on the overall economy(经济),” he says.‎ The increasing environmental problems and need for eco-friendly products and services are creating a new job section of green-collar jobs. Many countries of the world have realized the importance and need for energy-saving products and services. It is expected that by 2025 about 25% of the jobs in developed countries will be of green-collar jobs. Doesn’t the data look promising for the future?‎ Green-collar jobs have become a bright career chances for all. And jobs will pop up at every income level, from environmental manager to gardener. For example, many countries including the United States have understood that fossil fuels have negative effect on the environment which can later become a serious danger to mankind. As a result, possibilities are being explored to find alternatives to satisfy demands in a better way. The increasing demand of newer resources(资源) has creating the need for experts and researchers who can find better ways to deal with the ongoing needs. In addition, in order to meet the increasing demands of environment-friendly equipment, both green product designer and educated and trained workers are needed. Management of environmental organizations also demands a large number of environmental managers. ‎ Where can you find green-collar jobs? Internet is undoubtedly the best way to find information on almost any matter. Nowadays, different kinds of jobs are being posted online. Search through a couple of job websites to look for a bright future in energy conversion and recycling of waste management. Check regularly and find the right work for yourself. People who read newspapers can also find different kinds of green-collar jobs.‎ ‎67.  Why does Bracken Hendricks mention the Internet Boom in Paragraph One?‎ A. The job chances in the environmental industry.‎ ‎70. The passage is written to _______.‎ A. discuss eco-friendly services B. introduce promising career chances C. suggest ways of saving energy at work D. explain the best method of finding jobs 第四部分 任务型阅读(共10小题;每小题1分,满分10分)‎ 请认真阅读下面短文,并根据所读内容在文章后表格中的空格里填入一个最恰当的单词。‎ 注意:每个空格只填一个单词。‎ Problem: On the scale of problems, “pictures of food on the Internet” is firmly first-world. And that is almost certainly a too-generous definition of “problem.” When it comes to photographing and putting your dinner on line, I say live and let live, you know? Maybe your salad was particularly inviting and pleasing that night, and I, too, have spent many an hour clicking “random” on Smitten Kitchen and salivating(流口水).‎ But I assume if you’re making the effort to arrange your food artfully and preserve its memory in a digital archive, you must... like food. And want it to taste good. A recent study published in the Journal of Consumer Psychology suggests that spending time focusing on images of food makes the food itself less satisfying.‎ Methodology: The researchers assumed that imagining enjoying something might lead to satiation -- the feeling that makes the second piece of cake taste not-quite-as-good as the first. To test this, they had some people participate in two experiments that they were told were separate -- one in which they rated how appetizing different photos of food looked, and one in which they ate some peanuts and rated how much they enjoyed them.‎ A separate group of people did the same experiment again, but in the photo-rating portion, some were asked to rate how appetizing the food was or to choose a preference between two foods, and some were asked to rate the brightness of the photo itself.‎ Results: The more photos of food people looked at, the less they enjoyed the peanuts -- if they were looking at photos of salty food. People who looked carefully at images of sweets enjoyed the peanuts more, suggesting that imagination causes satiation only if you’re imagining a similar food. In the second experiment, participants who focused on the brightness of the photos were able to enjoy the peanuts more than those who were thinking about the deliciousness of foods while they looked at the images.‎ Implications: You’ll probably enjoy your food more if you don’t take a picture of it, or scroll through images of cookies at work and then eat one when you get home. This also has potential implications for advertisers, who may unknowingly be giving away satiation for free when they show images of chicken wings or whatever in front of us all day long. But luckily the study provides a hint: Try not to think about the food’s taste while you take a photo -- just focus on your composition.‎ ‎____________________________________________________________________________________________‎ 第五部分 书面表达(满分25分)‎ ‎81. ‎ ‎____________________________________________________________________________________________‎ There was a problem with the parking place for bikes in our school.‎ ‎                                                                                   ‎ ‎2020届江苏高考考前名师原创冲刺卷(6)‎ 英 语 试 题 参 考 答 案 第一部分:听力(共两节,满分20分)‎ 略 第二部分:英语知识运用(共两节,满分35分)‎ 第一节单项填空(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分)‎ ‎21-25DAADD 26-30CDCDB 31-35CBDBB 第二节完形填空(共20小题;每小题1分,满分20分)‎ ‎36-40 ADBBA 41-45 CBDCA 46-50 CDBCA 51-55 DDBCA 第三部分:阅读理解(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)‎ ‎56-60 BDACA 61-65 DBCBC 66-70ACDDB 第四部分:任务型阅读(共10小题;每小题1分,满分10分)‎ ‎71. share    72. reduces/ affects/ decreases/ lessens 73. appetite 74. rate ‎75. conducted/ made/ done 76. inviting/ attractive 77. different ‎78. enables/ allows/ causes 79.
