That was a memorable thing.‎ Physics was not for me. It was a fairly challenging subject—I was already shaky in mathematical confidence—and the lectures made it more so. I really tried. But I just did not get it. I wasn't even sure what exactly we were studying. It just seemed hard.‎ I'm sure Nuclear Ned Flanders, as he became known, was great at running power plants, but, objectively speaking, he was not a very good teacher. I eventually dropped the class, and then avoided the sciences for all of college.‎ But the funny thing is, I'm actually thankful things turned out this way. It means that as I step stealthily into midlife, there is a whole world of truly interesting study I'm just discovering. Physics, it turns out, includes the study of things like space, time, and how the entire universe works. It simply does not get a whole lot more interesting than that! And I appreciate wrestling with big, abstract ideas now. If I considered myself schooled, I'm not sure I would have felt like I had to return to those concepts at this point. I'm so glad I have.‎ The point of my story is obvious: that every single person who stands at the front of a classroom matters. In addition to the expense, Yasin was also concerned about the environmental influence. The process of making and distributing just I kilogram, or 2.2 pounds, of new fabric results in an average of 23 kg, or 50 pounds, of greenhouse gases. To make matters worse, the "fast fashion" trend worldwide has caused garment production to double since 2000, with more than half of the clothing ending up in landfills annually!‎ To find a solution, Yasin used his previous experience designing satellites to invent a way to fold synthetic（合成的）material such that it stretches in all directions.‎ The first design, a pair of tiny pants, not only fit his baby nephew, but also his 2-year-old niece!
