Fortunately for us as parents there is a way to avoid this type of tragedy through GPS tracking for children. Global positioning system technology can make it so that we need not worry about our children being lost as much as we used to in the past. GPS systems for kids are small devices that can be worn like a pager (呼机), implanted in a watch or attached to the child's clothing or backpack. It will then deliver information to you about the child's location at all times providing you with peace of mind. The GPS systems can be programmed to send information in intervals as short as 15 seconds. You can imagine how much more relaxed you would be when you're able to log your computer at any time and know within several yards exactly where your child is. Some of the GPS kids units even have a panic button that the child can push to send an immediate alert(警报) in case of an emergency. This notification will go both to you and to the GPS tracking service so that authorities can be alerted. For small children the GPS tracking device can be as small as a watch or pager and will run on batteries for up to 24 hours before needing to be recharged. For older children you can even place a device in their cars to monitor their driving habits and where they are driving. Personal GPS units for kids are not cheap and the smaller the device the higher the price. Can you really say that anything is too expensive when discussing the safety and wellbeing of your children? D One day in the gym, I asked a coach, “What’s the difference between the best athletes and everyone else?” He briefly mentioned the things that you might expect: genetics, luck, talent. But then he added something I wasn’t expecting. “At some point,” he said, “it comes down to who can handle the boredom of training every day and doing the same practice over and over again.” Most of the time people talk about getting motivated to work on their goals. As a result, I think many people get depressed when they lose focus or motivation because they think that successful people never lack motivation that they seem to be missing. But that’s exactly the opposite of what this coach was saying. When I was an athlete, I loved going to practice the week after a big win. Who wouldn’t? Your coach is happy, your teammates are excited, and you feel like you can beat anyone. As an entrepreneur, I love working when customers are rolling in and things are going well. Getting results has a way of pushing you forward. But what about when you’re bored? What about when the work isn’t easy? What about when it feels like nobody is paying attention or you’re not getting the results you want? It’s the ability to work when work isn’t easy that makes the difference. If you look at the people who are consistently achieving their goals, you start to realize that it’s not the events or the results that make them different. It’s their commitment to the process. They fall in love with the daily practice. So, fall in love with boredom. Fall in love with repetition and practice. Fall in love with the process of what you do and let the results take care of themselves. 32. What was the author’s attitude towards the coach’s added answer? A. He was surprised at it. B. He argued against it. C. He doubted it. D. He was uninterested in it. 33. The coach supposes successful people _____________________. 10页 A. can avoid negative emotions. B. can keep themselves inspired C. have a real enthusiasm for their work. D. will find ways to work through boredom. 32. The author mentions his own experience to show ________. A. the way of becoming successful. B. the importance of getting results. C. the difficulty in keeping working when you are bored. D. the willingness to work hard when you feel motivated 33. The text inspires people to _____________. A. value motivation. B. live with repetition. C. set themselves goals. D. develop a good habit. 第二节、七选五(10分) __36__ He had more money than he could ever spend, and he was admired and looked up to by his community.__ 37__ He wasn't happy.
