【英语】2018届人教版必修2一轮复习:Unit4Wildlifeprotection单元学案设计(21页)
20018届人教版必修2一轮复习:Unit4Wildlife protection单元学案设计 一单元话题阅读:How to save injured wildlife? 假如你遇到受伤的野生动物,你会勇敢地去帮助它吗?如果会,那怎样才能做到既能拯救野生动物,又能保证自己的安全呢? Stop! Do NOT attempt to touch a live badger, deer or fox. They can all cause severe injuries to humans. You can protect these large mammals from receiving further injury by positioning a car with its danger warning lights and headlights on, behind the creature, to warn other road users, if it does not endanger you or other road users. Do move any dead creatures off the highway as they can attract other birds and animals to them as they scavenge (以腐肉为食), which then places other wildlife and road users at further risk. To check if a creature is dead, a gentle prod (戳) with a long stick should be enough to make an animal response (反应) if it is still alive. In the boot of your car it can be useful to carry a strong cardboard box (or pet carrier), a torch, a towel and a pair of thick gardening gauntlets (防护手套). Covering an injured animal will help reduce stress and keep it warm, but do not touch the animal or bird too much. Put it somewhere quiet, dark and warm. Wild creatures are not calmed by contact (接触) with humans. Talking to them and stroking (抚摩) them can only increase their stress. Do keep the number of your nearest wildlife rescue center in hand. We suggest keeping one copy near the phone and one copy in your car. Do keep all birds away from your face. Long-beaked and long-necked birds will peck (啄食) at anything shiny, your eyes being a target. Do watch out for the talons (爪) on birds of prey as these are their most dangerous weapons. Throw a towel over the bird and pick it up using thick gloves. 二 单元基础知识回顾 Part 1 Warming Up, Pre⁃reading, Reading and Comprehending I. 根据下面各句句意以及所给单词的首字母或汉语提示词,写出该单词的正确形式(每空一词)。 1. To tell the truth, I feel sorry for these animals. I think you should set these animals free and not to do this any longer. As we all know, many species of wild animals have died out and some are highly endangered. Overhunting will surely cause the extinction of more animals. This will in turn influence the lives of human beings. Besides, wild animals should live in their natural habitats instead of cages, as it is only in their habitats that they can live a healthy and happy life. I hope you will take my advice into consideration. Looking forward to your reply. I don’t understand why their introduction is always filled with regret and self-pity. Is it really a crime to be a housewife? Is it really embarrassing when you choose not to work outside and instead choose to work in your home? How could you be “just a housewife” when the basic social unit of society depends on you and your service? A housewife works for the longest hour, supporting your husband, child’s studies, caring for elders, managing finances, pay8ing bills, grocery shopping, cooking according to individual taste, cleaning, etc. a housewife could be anyone: daughter, wife, mother, teacher, financial adviser, fashion designer and nurse, gardener, driver, cook, and so on. Don’t think you are not being paid for it. You get the reward that no money can offer—the love and affection of your family, their trust in you, a happy home and your own satisfaction. It is you who choose to be in this occupation, willingly or for any other reason. After a busy day, all wait to return to the comfortable home set by you. They know you will be there to absorb all their stress and tiredness and relax them. Would the life have been the same if you had been working outside to earn some money? Would you along with your family have been able to buy all the content in life that you are enjoying now with that money? Respect yourself for what you are. Introduce yourself to the world with the same dignity. The world understands the importance of your job. It’s time to make them accept it. Introduce yourself with pride and with twinkle in your eyes “I am a housewife” . Kick that “just” out. 24. People feel _____when they say “I’m just a housewife”. A. Supportive B. Doubtful C. Opposed D. Disappointed C Researchers at University of California report that elderly women who sit for more than 10 hours a day with low physical activity have cells that are biologically older by eight years compared to women who are less sedentary. The study, published online January 18 in the American Journal of Epidemiology, found elderly women with less than 40 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity per day and who remain seated for more than 10 hours per day have shorter telomeres(染色体终端), which protect chromosomes(染色体)from becoming bad and progressively shorten with age. As a cell ages, its telomeres naturally shorten, but health and lifestyle factors, such as obesity and smoking, may quicken that process. Shortened telomeres are associated with cardiovascular disease, diabetes and major cancers. “Our study found cells age faster with a sedentary lifestyle. Chronological(编年的)age doesn’t always match biological age,” said Shadyab, PhD, lead author of the study. Shadyab and his research team believe they are the first to objectively measure how the combination of sedentary time and exercise can influence the aging biomarker. Nearly 1,5000 women, ages 64 to 95, participated in the study. The participants completed questionnaires and wore an accelerometer on their right hip for seven consecutive days during waking and sleeping hours to track their movements. “We found that women who sat longer did not have shorter telomere length if they exercised for at least 30 minutes a day, the national recommended guideline,” said Shadyab. “Discussions about the benefits of exercise should start when we are young, and physical activity should continue to be part of our daily lives as we get older, even at 80 years old.” Shadyab said future studies will examine how exercise relates to telomere length in younger populations and in men. 28. The underlined word “sedentary” in the 1st paragraph most probably means________ A. too much sitting but too little exercise may quicken biological aging B. telomeres progressively shorten with age C. physical activities stop women from aging D. shortened telomeres lead to major cancers 30. Which of the following true? A. Cells age faster with a less sedentary lifestyle B. Physical activity isn’t necessary for those at 80 years old C. The related studies will be carried out D. The finding is true of younger participants 31. Where do you most probably find this passage? A. In a fashion tabloid B. In a text book C. In a science journal D. In a beauty poster D A meeting between Alibaba Group Chairman Jack Ma and US President Donald Trump last Monday signals that Trump, whose tough attitude towards China has east dark clouds over China-US trade relations, left a door open for pragmatic(务实的)cooperation with Chinese companies, Chinese experts said. Yesterday evening I was cycling home hurriedly from school when suddenly another bike cut in and I fell off my bike heavily, hurting my legs. I went to the nearest hospital for an immediate treatment, only to be advised to stay in bed for three days. To support my request, a sick leave certificate by the doctor is enclosed together with the letter here . When it comes to the missing lessons during my absence, I will try my best to make up for them the moment I come back to class. I would appreciate it if you could give me your kind permission . Best wishes . Yours sincerely , Li Hua [来源:学科网ZXXK]查看更多
