In the video, diners are sitting in a row of chairs, but will not have to stand when the next hungry diner is called to a table. Instead, the ‎ chairs, equipped with autonomous technology that detects the seat ahead, move along a path toward the front of the line. When the person at the front of the queue is called, the empty chair at the front can sense it is empty and so moves out of line. Cameras on the remaining chairs then sense the movement and follow automatically.‎ ‎"The system, which is similar to the kind used in Nissan's autonomous vehicle technology, will be tested at select restaurants in Japan this year," Nissan said. "It appeals to anyone who has queued for hours outside a crowded restaurant: it rids the boredom and physical pain of standing in line," Nissan added.‎ Although Tokyo has some 160,000 restaurants, long queues are not uncommon. Chosen restaurants that meet the criteria will be able to show the chairs outside their restaurants next year. Nissan also released a short video showing the chairs being used in an art gallery, moving slowly in front of the various paintings to let viewers appreciate the art without the need to stand up.‎ ‎28. When does the empty chair leave the line?‎ ‎ A. It feels no person in it. B. The queue is too long.‎ ‎ C. The remaining chairs follow it. D. The camera on it doesn't work.‎ ‎29. Self-driving chairs is becoming popular D People are being attracted to Facebook with the promise of a fun, free service ‎ without realizing they're paying for it by giving up large amounts of personal information. Facebook then attempts to make money by selling their data to advertisers that want to send targeted messages.‎ Most Facebook users don't realize this is happening. Even if they know what the company is up to, they still have no idea what they're paying for Facebook because people don't really know what their personal information is worth.‎ The biggest problem, however, is that the company keeps changing the rules. Early on, you keep everything private. That was the great thing about Facebook—you could create your own little private network. Last year, the company changed its privacy rules so that many things—your city, your photo, your friends' names—were set, by default (默认) to be shared with everyone on the Internet.‎ According to Facebook's vice-president Elliot Schrage, the company is simply making changes to improve its service, and if people don't share information, they have a "less satisfying experience".‎ Some people think this is more about Facebook looking to make more money. Its original business model, which was about selling ads and putting them at the side of the page, totally failed. Who wants to look at ads when they're online connecting with their friends?‎ The privacy issue has already landed Facebook in hot water in Washington. In April, Senator Charles Schumer called on Facebook to change its privacy policy. He also urged the Federal Trade Commission to set guidelines for social-networking sites.‎ I think that whatever Facebook has done so far to invade our privacy is only the beginning, which is why I'm considering stopping using it. Facebook is a convenient site, but I'm upset by the idea that my information is in the hands of people I don't know. That's too high a price to pay. ‎ ‎32. According to the text, Facebook is ____________.‎ A. losing more customers B. becoming a more useful site ‎ C. improving its service gradually D. stealing and selling users' information ‎ ‎33. At the beginning Facebook's business model includes selling ____________.‎ A. its service B. ads C. its products D. personal information ‎34. Why do Facebook make changes to its rule?‎ A. To provide better service to its users. B. To follow the Federal guidelines. ‎ C. To encourage its users' communication. D. To gain its users' more personal information. ‎ ‎35. In your last letter you asked me about the out-of-class reading of the students in our school.‎ ‎    As you’d expected, we senior high school students spend less time on out-of-class reading as the grade rises. With our grade becoming higher, we have more homework to do, thus leaving less spare time for reading. ‎ ‎    As far as I’m concerned, it is of great importance for us to do more reading to broaden our horizons. Meanwhile, I’d like to recommend you read Journey to the West, one of the most famous novels in China, which is a mythological novel based on many centuries of popular tradition. I’m convinced that you will like it and you’re welcome to exchange ideas with me after reading it.‎ ‎     Best wishes to you!‎ Yours, ‎ Li Hua 听力原文 Text 1‎ M: I’m very sorry, Mrs Lamb.
