Unit 3 　 Fascinating Parks 　 　 The world’s first theme park in the modern sense—California Disneyland In 1955, Walt Disney, an imaginative and creative American animation pioneer, opened the first modern amusement park in California. It was not only the first Disneyland, but also the world’s first modern theme park named Disneyland, the official name of which is Disneyland park.
