一般题干主要包括六个动词:infer(推断),indicate(象征,暗示),imply(暗示),suggest(暗示),conclude(作出结论)和assume(假定,设想)。‎ 该类型的命题方式常常以下列形式呈现:‎ ‎1.It can be inferred/concluded from the text that .‎ ‎2.What can we infer/learn from...?‎ ‎3.We can learn from the passage that .‎ ‎4.The passage/story...indicates/suggests/implies that .‎ 二、解题技巧——关键词句细推敲 第一步:定位细节——根据题干提供的信息,抓住某一段话的关键信息(关键词语)。 ‎ 例如:【真题感悟】中的28题,根据第一段最后一句“Some language experts believe that 10,000 years ago, when the world had just five to ten million people, they spoke perhaps 12,000 languages between them.” ‎ ‎【课堂练习】‎ A Five weeks ago I had a total hip replacement surgery(髋关节置换手术).In Canada,we have great healthcare system. That means we get our new hips for free.‎ My hip had been hurting me for years before I went to the doctor. Of course,it was free. She referred me to a surgeon, but the earliest appointment was in 10 months. That is what being free gets you. Ten months later, after some free X-rays,the surgeon told me I needed a surgery, which was about an 18-month wait, for some senior citizens had been on the operation list. Another 18 months! I dragged myself out of the surgeon’s office.‎ Walking through the hospital,I thought about the situation. As the 1breadwinner of a large family,I couldn’t wait that long,so I had to get to the front line. I was fully aware of what a Canadian should be like (Canadians are usually considered gentle and caring),but this time I really needed to fight for myself. At that very moment,in the shop window of the hospital,I saw a sign which read,“Volunteers Needed.” Suddenly,an idea occurred to me—I would get the job. Fortunately, they 2signed me up immediately because the average age of the volunteers at the hospital was 75.They were desperate for some young blood.‎ Every Friday morning,I was at the shop. While seeing the hospital 5staff,I’d 3casually ask,“What do you do?” Then I’d tell them,“Well,I’m getting my hip replaced—in 18‎ ‎ months. It’s going to be so great when the pain stops.” Soon, all the staff got to know me. Naturally,in my next appointment, the surgeon recognized me. Moments later,I had a surgery date just weeks away.‎ I had to say it was actually my volunteering that got me to the front of the line. And I’m not ashamed of it,for I intend to stick with the volunteering. Also, even when I cheated the system,I did it in a way that benefits society.‎ 语篇解读 本文是一篇记叙文。 ‎ ‎1.What can we infer from the second paragraph?‎ A.She felt rather disappointed.‎ B.She couldn’t walk because of the pain.‎ C.She was too scared to have the surgery.‎ D.She didn’t believe what the surgeon said.‎ 答案 A 解析 推理判断题。根据第二段第三句“She referred me to a surgeon, but the earliest appointment was in 10 months.” I dragged myself out of the surgeon’s office.” A。‎ ‎2.Why did the writer decide to be a volunteer?‎ A.To donate blood to the hospital.‎ B.To get her new hip free of charge.‎ C.To receive some tiny gifts from others.‎ D.To approach the doctor for an early surgery.‎ 答案 D 解析 推理判断题。 D。‎ ‎3.What did the author think of her cheating?‎ A.It was a shame. B.It was a pride.‎ C.It was beneficial. D.It was a fair 7deal.‎ 答案 D 解析 推理判断题。根据最后一段中的“And I’m not ashamed of it,for I intend to stick with the volunteering. Also, even when I cheated the system,I did it in a way that benefits society.” D。‎ ‎4.Which can be the best title for the text?‎ A.How I Got My New Hip B.The Doctor Who Saved My Life C.How to Be a Volunteer in Hospital D.The Problem of Canada Healthcare System 答案 A 解析 标题归纳题。 A。 ‎ B ‎ ‎ Recycling is essential in today’s world. The most important reason for this is that human progress and industry have made it possible for people to have lots of things, and when people have many material possessions, they are bound to throw some of them away. This creates a lot of garbage which in turn destroys the environment.‎ Recycling is a way for us to keep the world clean as 8items are broken down and used again, preventing the littering of the environment. Instead of throwing all your garbage into the trash can,you should separate paper, metal, glass, and plastic into different containers. Compost should also be recycled as this is excellent food for farm animals and also makes for great fertilizer(肥料).‎ You should try to buy products that have been recycled. You can see if an item has been made from recycled materials by its label; if it’s been recycled,it will say so. Also, instead of always buying new clothes, you can arrange to have a clothing 6swap with your friends. You bring clothes you don’t want and pick items you want from what other people have brought. Not only does this save the environment, but it also saves your pocketbook.Remember, what is one person’s junk can be someone else’s treasure! The saying can be applied to all sorts of things:books,CDs,furniture, etc. Also, try shopping at second-hand stores, because they often have lots of items still in good shape for you to choose.‎ Many countries have made it easy for people to recycle,as alongside the normal garbage trucks, special garbage trucks come and pick up recyclables. However,in many countries around the world the responsibility is left up to the 4individual to recycle. Therefore,it must be made a priority(优先考虑的事) in society so we can continue to make our environment livable.‎ 语篇解读 在当今世界,回收是必不可少的。 ‎ ‎5.Why is more waste being made in today’s world?‎ A.People dislike the updated items.‎ B.People own abundant belongings.‎ C.People intend to live a simple life.‎ D.People have made great progress in industry.‎ 答案 B 解析 细节理解题。 B。‎ ‎6.What does the underlined word “this” in Paragraph 3 refer to?‎ A.Exchanging clothes with friends.‎ B.Shopping at second-hand stores.‎ C.Throwing away old clothes.‎ D.Picking up new items.‎ 答案 A 解析 词义猜测题。根据第三段中“Also, instead of always buying new clothes, you can arrange to have a clothing swap with your friends.” A。‎ ‎7.To make the environment enjoyable,we should .‎ A.always buy new clothes B.choose recyclable products C.go shopping at chain stores D.arrange more garbage trucks 答案 B 解析 细节理解题。根据第三段第一句“You should try to buy products that have been recycled.” B。‎ ‎8.What can we learn from the last paragraph?‎ A.Governments do nothing in recycling.‎ B.Normal vehicles can pick up recyclables.‎ C.The individual seldom cares about recycling.‎ D.Everyone should feel socially responsible for recycling.‎ 答案 D 解析 推理判断题。 障碍词汇突破 ‎(一)阅读下列句子,并根据句意猜测画线部分的意思 ‎1.Will you expect to live along traditional lines:woman as homemaker and man as breadwinner?‎ 养家糊口的人 ‎2.He signed up as a flight attendant with Korean Air.签约 ‎3.Nobody can casually succeed;it comes from the thorough self-control and the will.‎ 随意地;随便地 ‎4.At best they only care about their lives as individual cells, but they fail to assume responsibility for the health of the larger body.个人的,个体的 ‎(二)同义词语替换 ‎5.If you drop something into the track, please contact the station staff. workers ‎6.I know a sculptor who swaps her pieces for drawings by a well-known artist. exchanges ‎(三)一词多义 ‎7.deal n. 处理;对待;做生意 ‎(1)They made a deal to sell the land to a property developer.协议 ‎(2)You should deal with him more politely.对待 ‎(3)So how do we deal with these new challenges? 处理 ‎(4)The cost was simply too high,so the deal fell through.交易,买卖 ‎8.item项目,条款;物品;一则消息 ‎(1)He opened the cardboard box and took out each item.物品 ‎(2)We went on to the next item on the agenda.项目,条款 ‎(3)There was an item in the paper about him. 长难句理解 ‎1.Ten months later, after some free X-rays,the surgeon told me I needed a surgery, which was about an 18-month wait, for some senior citizens had been on the operation list.‎ ‎[句式分析] 本句话的主干部分为the surgeon told me I needed a surgery。I needed a surgery为省略了that的宾语从句;which was about... ‎ ‎2.The most important reason for this is that human progress and industry have made it possible for people to have lots of things, and when people have many material possessions, they are bound to throw some of them away.‎ ‎[句式分析] 本句话为并列句结构,第一个句子是主系表结构,表语为表语从句,从句中的it是形式宾语,真正的宾语是to have lots of things;第二个句子也是复合句,其中when people have many material possessions为时间状语从句。 A I love going out with my mate Jerry. People stare at him with admiration. Some even ask for his signature. But Jerry isn’t famous. He just bears a resemblance(长得像) to someone who is the actor Daniel Radcliffe. Yes,Harry Potter himself! And it has a magical effect on people!‎ I told Jerry he should be a twin model. That’s what Pauline Bailey did. She decided to replicate (模仿) Marilyn Monroe’s image after she was told she bore a likeness to the star.‎ Bailey says:“I bought books and started reading about Marilyn. I realized we had a similar upbringing,so I had an affinity(亲近感) with her. Then people started saying when I went to places that I looked like her. I didn’t realize you could make a living out of it.”‎ Now the blonde(金发的) model gets jobs through a specialized agency. She jumps out of cakes, allowing men to live the fantasy of meeting the late goddess of the silver screen.‎ But not everybody profits from the lookalike business. Iranian actor Mahmoud Basiri claims his likeness to a famous person cost him eight years of earnings. He happens to be the spitting image of former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He was told in 2005 that he could only work with the leader’s agreement. So will Ahmadinejad ever give his agreement to the actor to play him? Don’t hold your breath—Basiri specializes in comedy!‎ But overall,a resemblance to a popular artist is a good thing, isn’t it? The biggest challenge must be to keep the illusion going—for example,by gaining or losing weight if they do. However,Pauline Bailey thinks it’s important to keep a sense of yourself. She says:“I’m very much an individual person, away from Marilyn. I think you could lose yourself very easily being someone else all the time and lose your own identity.”‎ I asked Jerry if he thinks impersonating Daniel Radcliffe professionally could go to his head. I worried that all the adulation(恭维) might change him and make him leave me behind.“No way,”he said.“We do everything together.”‎ What about you? Which celebrity would you like to be the spitting image of?‎ 语篇解读 文章介绍了几个和名人长得像的人的生活经历。‎ ‎1.Why do some people ask for Jerry’s signature?‎ A.They think that he is admirable.‎ B.They mistake him for Daniel Radcliffe.‎ C.They think he has magic power.‎ D.They take him for Harry Potter.‎ 答案 B 解析 推理判断题。根据第一段中的“Some even ask for his signature. But Jerry isn’t famous. He just bears a resemblance(长得像) to someone who is the actor Daniel Radcliffe.” B。‎ ‎2.What can we learn about Pauline Bailey?‎ A.She looks like Marilyn Monroe.‎ B.She is Jerry’s girlfriend.‎ C.She has a twin sister.‎ D.She is a famous film star.‎ 答案 A 解析 细节理解题。根据第二段中的“That’s what Pauline Bailey did.She decided to replicate(模仿) Marilyn Monroe’s image after she was told she bore a likeness to the star.” A。‎ ‎3.What do we know about Basiri?‎ A.He is the former Iranian president.‎ B.He is fond of acting leaders.‎ C.He has made much money for 8 years.‎ D.He is good at acting in comedy.‎ 答案 D 解析 细节理解题。 D。‎ B For your next out-of-this-world vacation, you now have the option of literally going out of this world—but it’ll cost you 40 million. Then again, can you really put a price tag on having the time of your life?According to a new report from Popular Mechanics,Russia is looking to build a luxury hotel in outer space. There you will wake up to a breathtaking blue planet—the earth! The hotel is expected to be stationed on the International Space Station (ISS).‎ While space tourism itself isn’t exactly a novel idea, the notion of building a hotel out there hasn’t been raised before. Really, other companies are still focused on the transportation part of the puzzle—after all,a trip to space is enough for most folks.‎ According to Popular Mechanics, the hotel will include a luxury orbital suite with big windows, personal hygiene(卫生) facilities, exercise equipment, and yes,Wi-Fi. Because if you can’t share your experience on social media, did it really even happen?‎ Of course, the reasons behind the hotel aren’t just for fun and games. Apparently, space tourism might be able to help the Russians pay for another module to add to the international Space Station. Russian space contractor RKK Energia is currently building the first such module, which will give scientists a laboratory and power supply station from which to conduct tests.‎ If any of this is going to happen, however,Russia is going to have to hurry. With the ISS expected to be out of use in 2028,there’s little time to build the hotel and find wealthy tourists to actually ‎ buy a trip into outer space.‎ So if you’ve recently come into a fortune and are interested in investing in what could be the time of your life,ISS is calling your name.‎ 语篇解读 本文讲述的是“太空旅行”。‎ ‎4.What do we know about the hotel from the first paragraph?‎ A.It is quite affordable.‎ B.It will be built in Russia.‎ C.It will offer an amazing view.‎ D.It costs 40 million to build.‎ 答案 C 解析 推理判断题。根据第一段中的“There you will wake up to a breathtaking blue planet—the earth!” C。‎ ‎ ‎ ‎5.What does the underlined phrase “the puzzle” in Paragraph 2 refer to?‎ A.An orbital suite.
