Module 5 Newspapers and Magazines单元教案 I.教学内容分析 本模块以“Newspapers and Magazines”为话题,引入了与报刊杂志有关的词汇,并介绍了中国首位宇航员杨利伟遨游太空的事迹。教师通过模块教学,使学生了解新闻体裁的文章的特点,让他们通过各种途径来了解探索太空的相关知识,培养学生采集资料的能力。在发展学生语言能力的同时,培养他们热爱科学、立志为国家做出贡献的理想和信念。 Introduction部分首先通过两幅中外著名报刊杂志的图片切人话题,使学生了解报刊杂志的相关术语;接着通过介绍报刊杂志的各个版块来学习单词,并通过口头表达的活动来达到运用的目的,为后面的各项学习活动做好准备。 Vocabulary and Reading部分以Chinese Taikonaut Back On Earth!为话题,以新闻报道的方式,介绍了中国宇航员杨利伟遨游太空的事迹,并说明了此次航天飞行的重大意义。根据文章的内容,编者设计了五个活动,如:词汇练习,主旨大意题,阅读理解题,判断题,讨论题,学生通过这些练习熟悉课文内容并学会使用与探索太空有关的词汇,同时对学生进行爱国主义教育。 Grammar J部分通过让学生观察例句,从中发现时间状语从句的特点,并通过相关的练习巩固此语法点,使学生掌握并正确使用when,while等连词以及由其所引导的从句中的动词时态。 Rending and Listening部分有两个主要的目的,一是阅读三篇新闻报道,了解其主旨大意,并初步了解新闻的形式。二是听新闻广播录音,然后完成与录音内容相关的练习。该部分给学生提供了读写结合的活动,要求学生在具体的活动过程中熟悉文章内容和有关单词,训练学生听懂新闻广播的能力。 Grammar2部分通过观察句子,了解原因状语从句的引导词及其特点,并通过相关练习,使学生掌握并正确使用原因状语从句。 Pronunciation部分主要是让学生通过听课文录音,注意体会句子根据意群停顿。通过跟读让学生体会句子停顿的规律,掌握在口语练习中如何根据意群停顿。 Writing部分通过阅读新闻体裁的文章,使学生初步了解此类文章的结构,并让学生展开想象进行扩写,培养学生的想像力。 Listening and Speaking部分以相关词汇作为导人,通过听一段有关电影的采访,根据所听的内容回答问题,通过所获取的信息来确定事情发展的先后顺序,并就此展开讨论。要求学生在这些听说活动中熟悉相关词汇的用法。 Function and Everyday English部分列举了表示“相信与不相信”及一些日常用语的句子,使学生在一定的语境下理解、学习和掌握语言,并鼓励学生大胆表达自己的喜好。 Cultural Corner部分是一篇介绍“英国和美国的日报”的文章,通过阅读该文章,可以增加学生对西方国家新闻业的了解,拓宽学生的知识面和相关词汇量,为后面的Task做好准备。 Task部分是对本模块的一个复习与应用,要求学生小组活动,上网查找资料,利用本模块所学的词汇,谈谈自己所喜爱的报纸或杂志。 Module File部分有助于学生对本模块学习内容进行归纳,对自己的学习进行总结和检验。 Ⅱ.教学重点和难点 1.教学重点 (1)掌握一些与报刊、杂志有关的词汇。 (2)学习时间状语从句和原因状语从句。 (3)学会表达“相信与不相信”;学习一些日常用语。 2.教学难点 (1)听懂新闻体裁的听力材料,学会在口语中如何根据意群停顿。 (2)正确使用时间状语和原因状语。 (3)理解介绍有关太空探索的短文和对话,在阅读中识别新学词汇、短语并推断其意义。 (4)学会用书面的方式来描述太空遨游的情景。 Ⅲ.教学计划 本模块分五个课时: 第一课时:Introduction,Cultural Comer,Function and Everyday English 第二课时:Vocabulary and Reading 第三课时:Reading and Listening,Pronunciation,Listening and Speaking 第四课时:Grammar 1,Grammar 2 第五课时:Writing,Task,Module File Ⅳ.教学步骤 Period 1 Introduction,Cultural Corner,Function and Everyday English Teaching Goals: 1.To arouse Ss’ interest in learning about newspapers and magazines. 2.To introduce the topic“Newspapers and Magazines”. 3.To get Ss to learn some words to describe newspapers and magazines. 4.To get Ss to know something about daily newspapers in Britain and the United States. 5.T0 let Ss learn how to show their belief and disbelief.
