‎2019届二轮复习阅读理解专题记叙文类型(10篇)训练之二 ‎[一]‎ Shortly after the war,my brother and I were invited to spend a few days with an uncle who had just returned from abroad. He had rented a cottage in the country, although he rarely spent much time there. We understood the reason for this after our arrival:the cottage had no comfortable furniture in it,many of the windows were broken and the roof leaked, making the whole house damp.‎ On our first evening,we sat around the fire after supper listening to the stories which our uncle had to tell of his many adventures in distant countries. I was so tired after the long train journey that I would have preferred to go to bed;but I could not bear to miss any of my uncle's exciting tales.‎ He was just in the middle of describing a rather terrifying experience he had once had when there was a loud crash from the bedroom above, the one where my brother and I were going to sleep.‎ ‎“It sounds as if the roof has fallen in!” cried out my uncle, with a loud laugh.‎ When we got to the top of the stairs and opened the bedroom door,we could see nothing at first because of the thick clouds of dust which filled the room. When the dust began to clear,a strange sight met our eyes. A large part of the ceiling had fallen down, falling right on to the pillow of my bed. I was glad that I had stayed up late to listen to my uncle's stories, otherwise I should certainly have been seriously injured, perhaps killed.‎ That night we all slept on the floor in the sitting room downstairs, not wishing to risk our lives by sleeping under a roof which might at any moment fall down on our heads. We left for London the very next morning and my ‎ uncle gave up his cottage in the country. This was not the kind of adventure he cared for either!‎ ‎24.Why did the uncle seldom spend much time in the country cottage?‎ A.Because the roof of the cottage was falling.‎ B.Because the cottage was in bad condition.‎ C.Because he was used to living abroad.‎ D.Because there was no furniture in it.‎ ‎25.When they opened the bedroom door, they could see nothing at first because ________.‎ A.it was completely dark inside B.there was too much dust in the air C.something strange blinded them D.it was too bright inside ‎26.The writer felt glad that he had stayed up late because ________.‎ A.he did not miss the exciting stories B.he spent more time with his uncle C.he had a lucky escape D.he saw a strange sight ‎27.Which of the following can best describe the writer's uncle?‎ A.Adventurous and good at storytelling.‎ B.Humorous and good at making jokes.‎ C.Dependable and generous with money.‎ D.Considerate and sensitive to danger.‎ ‎【语篇解读】 本文主要讲述了作者兄弟俩和国外归来的叔叔一起在乡间小屋里度过一晚的故事。 根据第一段的最后一句“We understood the reason for this after our arrival:the cottage had no comfortable furniture in it,many of the windows were broken and the roof leaked, making the whole house damp.” 根据第五段第一句“When we ...opened the bedroom ‎ door,we could see nothing at first because of the thick clouds of dust which filled the room.” 根据第五段最后一句“I was glad that I had stayed up late to listen to my uncle's stories, otherwise I should certainly have been seriously injured, perhaps killed.” 根据文章第二段第一句中的“his many adventures in distant countries”和第二段最后一句中的“but I could not bear to miss any of my uncle's exciting tales”以及最后一段最后一句“This was not the kind of adventure he cared for either!” ‎ ‎[二]‎ KBG84 is a oneofakind girl band in Japan consisting of 33 singing and dancing grannies, with an average age of 84.The oldest member,Haru Yamashiro,is 97 years old!‎ The new band, based in the remote island of Kohama in Okinawa,is a huge hit in the country-so much so that the members are rather shocked by their success. The mouse was under the fridge when I arrived. The cat was standing guard, slowly swinging its tail. I tried to put a broom handle beneath the fridge to force it out,but there were too many wires. My friend pulled up a chair at the table and I pulled a chair beside the fridge, armed with a plastic box as my trap. It was a good plan, but as is usually the case,it didn't go according to plan.‎ After a while, the mouse put its head out. I knelt down on the floor in front of the fridge and angled the box to create a noescape trap. The mouse moved out farther and I put the box down immediately. Unfortunately, the only thing inside the box was the mouse's tail, still attached to the mouse, which was now struggling with its little legs in an attempt to take_to_its_heels. The cat just sat.‎ The mouse crawled(爬) up on the broom handle I'd used earlier, and we were now eyeball to eyeball. If I'd wanted to-and I didn't-I could have seized it with my teeth. I shouted I needed something else to get the mouse. My friend handed me another container. I lowered box two over the mouse's body, still on the broom handle, with its tail still in box one. Despite my twobox move, the mouse escaped and shot back under the fridge.‎ Shortly after I left,my friend found the mouse. It was bathed in the sunlight in her bedroom. The cat was sitting next to it,enjoying the rays as well. She said they were a cute couple. Learning from my mistakes, she got a box-and a lid-and said the mouse all but jumped in the box and helped her seal the lid. Just a small change brought about an unexpected result.‎ ‎24.What does the last sentence in Paragraph 2 suggest?‎ A.The plan ended in failure.‎ B.The plan wasn't worth carrying out.‎ C.The plan wasn't carried out properly.‎ D.The plan proved to be an unexpected one.‎ ‎25.What does the underlined part “take to its heels” mean?‎ A.Go back. Aghan Oscar is just among them. Thirteen years ago,Aghan, bothered by the everincreasing quantity of plastic waste ‎ in this lowincome suburb of Nairobi, decided to find a way to recycle it.‎ Now his company,Continental Renewable Energy Co. Ltd(COREC),produces poles for use in construction, farming and road signs. So far he's sold 96,000,and he says his potential for growth is limited only by the considerable expense of setting up plastic recycling plants.‎ Most of Aghan's customers are farmers and developers who once used wooden fence poles. Customers say they have other benefits as well. “I have fenced my piece of land three times using wood posts, but most of the time the fence was vandalized(故意破坏) by villagers who used the posts as firewood,” said Caleb Kapten. Now plastic posts have stopped the problem,he said.‎ The Kenya National Highways Authority is one of COREC's biggest customers. It approached the company after road signs were vandalized by criminals who sold the metal poles to steel manufacturing companies. Aghan reckons(估计) that COREC's products have saved the government millions of shillings, besides preventing road accidents. And he also points out that COREC has been able to conserve large numbers of trees by producing plastic poles.‎ When Aghan started this recycling business in 2003,most of his employees were his family members due to financial constraints(限制).Now he employs 250 young people to collect plastic waste. Fifty more youths work on the production line, where the waste is sorted according to quality before being crushed and washed, melted and cast into different shapes. The poles are then arranged by shape and size for sale in the yard of the recycling plant.‎ ‎24.What's the biggest challenge of Aghan's future career?‎ A.The poor technology in recycling.‎ B.The high cost of building factories.‎ C.The increasing piles of plastic waste.‎ D.The limited policy support in recycling.‎ ‎25.How was Caleb Kapten's problem finally solved?‎ A.He gave up fencing his land.‎ B.He guarded the land more carefully.‎ C.He replaced the wood posts with plastic ones.‎ D.He got some donated metal posts.‎ ‎26.What does the last paragraph suggest?‎ A.Great difficulty facing Aghan.‎ B.Strict standards of plastic poles.‎ C.Various ways of making plastic poles.‎ D.The complex process of recycling plastic waste.‎ ‎27.Which best shows the structure of the text?‎ A.‎ B.‎ C.‎ D.‎ ‎【语篇解读】 本文是一篇记叙文。 根据第二段中的“his potential for growth is limited only by the considerable expense of setting up plastic recycling plants”可知,Aghan 未来事业面临的最大挑战是建造塑料回收工厂的费用过高。 根据第三段的内容,尤其是“Now plastic posts have stopped the problem”可知Caleb Kapten的问题因使用塑料杆来代替木杆而得到解决。 根据最后一段的内容,尤其是“he employs 250 young people to collect plastic waste”“Fifty more youths work on the production line, where the waste is sorted according to quality before being crushed and washed, melted and cast into different shapes. The poles are then arranged by shape and size for sale in the yard of the recycling plant.” ‎ ‎[七]‎ I always believed that my parents had a good marriage, but just before I,the youngest of four children, turned sixteen,my belief was painfully tested. My father, who used to share in the chores around the house, gradually started becoming downhearted. From the time he came home from his job to the time he went to bed,he hardly spoke a word to my mom or us kids. The strain on my mom and dad's relationship was very evident. However,I was not prepared for the day that Mom told us that Dad had decided to leave. All that I could think of was that I was going to become a product of a divorced family. It was something I never thought possible, and it grieved me greatly. I kept telling myself that it wasn't going to happen, and I went totally numb when I knew my dad was really leaving. The night before he left,I stayed up in my room for a long time. I prayed and I cried and I wrote a long letter to my dad. I told him how much I loved him and how much I would miss him. I told him that I was praying for him and wanted him to know that,no matter what,Jesus and I loved him. I told him that I would always and forever be his Krissie ...his Noodles. As I folded my note,I stuck in ‎ a picture of me with a saying I had always heard:“Anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a daddy.”‎ Early the next morning,as my dad left our house,I sneaked out to the car and slipped my letter into one of his bags.‎ Two weeks went by with hardly a word from my father. Then, one afternoon,I came home from school to find my mom sitting at the dining room table waiting to talk to me. I could see in her eyes that she had been crying. She told me that Dad had been there and that they had talked for a long time. They decided that there were things that both of them could and would change and that their marriage was worth saving. Mom then turned her focus to my eyes.‎ ‎“Krissie,Dad told me that you wrote him a letter. Can I ask what you wrote to him?”‎ I found it hard to share with my mom what I had written from my heart to my dad. I mumbled a few words and shrugged.‎ A few days later my dad was back. We never talked about the letter,my dad and I.I guess I always figured that it was something that was a secret between us.‎ ‎24.What happened to the author's parents when she was sixteen?‎ A.They left her alone.‎ B.They were getting divorced.‎ C.They shared in the chores together.‎ D.They had a good marriage.‎ ‎25.What is the meaning of the underlined word “grieved” in Para. 1?‎ A.Made sb. angry. We were there,as mental health professionals,to offer “psychological first aid” and I was struck by the simple healing power of presence. As we walked in the gate to the shelter,we were greeted with a burst of gratitude(感激) from the first person we met. I felt appreciated, but also guilty, because I hadn't really done anything yet.‎ I first realized the power of presence many years ago when a friend's mother passed away unexpectedly. I received a call saying she had just passed away. I wanted to rush down there immediately, but didn't want to ‎ intrude(打扰) on this very personal period of sadness. I was torn about what to do. Another friend with me then said,“Just go. Just be there.” I did,and I will never regret it.‎ Since then,I have not hesitated to be in the presence of others. Once I sat at the bedside of a young man suffering from the pain of his AIDSrelated dying. He was not awake, and obviously unaware of others' presence. However, the atmosphere was by no means solemn. His family, playing guitars and singing, allowed him to be present with them as though he were still fully alive.‎ In my life,I am repeatedly struck by the healing power of presence. In it,none of us are truly alone. It not only is something we give to others but also changes me for the better.‎ ‎24.Why were the hurricane victims grateful to the author?‎ A.He built shelters for them.‎ B.He gave immediate first aid to them.‎ C.He came to stay with them.‎ D.He brought mental health professionals.‎ ‎25.What did the author do when his friend's mother passed away?‎ A.He hesitated over whether to go.‎ B.He went to his friend's at once.‎ C.He knew what to do instantly.‎ D.He decided not to disturb his friend.‎ ‎26.What does the underlined word “solemn” in Paragraph 3 probably mean?‎ A.Heavy but warm.‎ B.A little sad but cosy.‎ C.Relaxing and delightful.‎ D.Very serious and unhappy.‎ ‎27.What has the author learned from his experience?‎ A.A friend in need is a friend indeed.‎ B.Being present can make a big difference.‎ C.The family harmony is the happiest thing in life.‎ D.Being a volunteer can make one's life more significant.‎ ‎【语篇解读】 本文主要讲述了“我”通过一些活动意识到“到场”的意义的故事。 根据第一段的第二句“We were there,as mental health professionals,to offer ‘psychological first aid’ and I was struck by the simple healing power of presence.” 根据第二段中的“I wanted to rush down there immediately, but didn't want to intrude(打扰) on this very personal period of sadness. I was torn about what to do.” 根据第三段最后一句中的“His family, playing guitars and singing”可知,男青年的家人在弹奏吉他并唱歌;结合画线词所在句中的“However ...no means”和第三段第二句中的“...a young man suffering from the pain of his AIDSrelated dying”可以判断,在家人的陪伴下,气氛并不悲伤和严肃,据此可以判断,画线词意为“严肃的”。 根据最后一段的前两句“In my life,I am repeatedly struck by the healing power of presence. In it,none of us are truly alone.” ‎ ‎[九]‎ Driving on up to Yosemite with my family was exciting but nerveracking ‎(令人紧张的).I had never been to such an amazing national park before, yet I wasn't the most athletic person so I knew that I couldn't stick through all the hiking up and down. It actually ended up being a fun and adventurous experience.‎ The ride there was definitely long but worth it. As I woke up from my nap,I saw the beautiful scenery of the tall mountains and beautiful streams. The trails were made nicely for visitors. The waterfalls were breathtaking. Climbing up rocks was one of my favorite parts. Even though I fell a couple of times,I still had a lot of fun. The fact that my family and I spent so much time together all trying to ‎ find out which route to take and what views to watch really brought us closer together.‎ The great thing about nature is that,it's just you,the views, and the people around you. There's nothing to bother you and it's the best way to relax and enjoy yourself. Yosemite has 5 of the world's highest waterfalls, and about 300 lakes. The structure of each mountain is incredible;it's formed in ways that almost take your breath away. It's often a gathering of people who are there for many different reasons. Some are looking for a deal on that one item for their loved one,or perhaps themselves. Their intentions are completely unrelated to the festive time of the year.‎ It was several years ago when my wife asked me to meet her at the local department store on Black Friday morning. They had advertised a child's bike that she wanted to purchase for our son. We stood with a very large crowd, waiting for the manager to blow the whistle. After a while the whistle blew.It was like throwing a bucket of small fish into a tank of sharks.I told my wife that if we obtained a bike, fine, but if we did not,I was OK with that too.‎ As the pile of bikes began to gradually decrease in size,I saw my polite opportunity to wrap my hands around the corner of one of the boxes. I lifted it up and suddenly felt some mild resistance. I looked up to see one of the largest gentlemen I had ever seen in my life. Frightening was ‎ not the word to describe his presence. He wore lots of belts of metal studded leather around both arms and even his neck. Tattoos(文身) were an obvious passion of his.‎ I started to give up the box but he gently pushed it back in my direction and back into my hands. He then directed it into my shopping cart. He looked at me,smiled, and said,“Merry Christmas.” My wife and I went to the checkout, paid for the bike and went home. All the way home I was thinking that this moment was by far the best gift I had ever received for Christmas. The kindness of a stranger broke all preconceived notions(预想) I may have had of stereotypes and prejudices.‎ ‎24.How did the author feel when going into the store?‎ A.The crowd was like small fish.‎ B.They might not get the bike.‎ C.He was excited to do the shopping.‎ D.The whistle was blown too late.‎ ‎25.What happened when the author was buying the bike?‎ A.He was scared by a man's look at first.‎ B.A gentleman bought the bike for him.‎ C.A stranger helped him lift the box.‎ D.He gave up the bike he first touched.‎ ‎26.What did the author learn from the experience?‎ A.Look before you leap.‎ B.Custom is a second nature.‎ C.Doing is better than saying.‎ D.Don't judge a book by its cover.‎ ‎27.What is the best title of the passage?‎ A.Black Friday sales B.My son's best bike C.The best Christmas gift D.A strange gentleman ‎【语篇解读】 本文是一篇记叙文。 根据第二段中的“I told my wife that if we obtained a bike, fine, but if we did not,I was OK with that too.” 根据第三段中的“I looked up to see one of the largest gentlemen I had ever seen in my life.Frightening was not the word to describe his presence.” 故选A项。 ‎
