Recently officials say Zimbabwe lost more than 1.5 million hectares of forest in 2016. This is mostly because of local communities cutting the trees for firewood or setting fires in forested areas to make hunting easier.‎ But now a group , called Environment Africa, is trying to improve the situation. Environment Africa is teaching farmers to raise bees . The group is working in the Mutasa district, near the country’s border with Mozambique. And it has already helped about 1,500 farmers.‎ Benjamin Chatambura is one such farmer. He has set up about 250 beehives near his home. Chatambura sells the honey the bees produce and uses the money to feed his family. He likes having bees on his land because the insects help him and the forest.‎ Lawrence Nyagwande is with Environment Africa. He says most of the farmers are earning as much as $‎1,000 a month from selling honey. The average government officer in Zimbabwe earns just about $‎500 a month. Nyagwande said beekeeping is also helping improve the country’s forests. “Now if you look around , the forests in Mutasa are now improving because the communities are also working with the nearby timber(木材) industries to try and fight the forest fires. And at the same time, the local plantations have also allowed farmers to put their beehives in their plantations as a way of trying to keep out forest fires.”‎ This project has caught the attention of the government . It opened in 2003 as the world’s first underwater post office. “Every week hundreds of postcards are dropped off at the underwater post office,” Timbaci says. “The number goes up when large ships come into port.” As a postal manager, it’s Timbaci’s job to make sure that the postcards , which are made of waterproof plastic and marked with a special stamp, are collected on time at 3pm each day. The postcards will then be taken to the main post office in town before being delivered both locally and internationally.‎ Visitors know that the post office is open for business when a flag is flown at ‎ the surface. While Timbaci sometimes works in the post office himself, he often persuades one of the dive masters at the nearby to help out. “Swimming to the post office is a great way to see the local sea life,” he says, “It is really beautiful.”‎ In the years since its opening , there have been several underwater mailboxes that have opened , including ones in Japan, Norway and Malaysia, the world’s deepest located more than 130 feet underwater, but the one at Vanuatu will go down in history as being the first of its kind. The Vanuatu underwater post office is open to divers and anyone who can hold their breath long enough to swim down there. Can’t swim? Some of these choices include running with the wrong crowd, dropping out of school, drinking and taking drugs. ‎ What can you do if your teen is making bad choices? The cruel truth is, you don’t have control over your child’s choices. You have a chance to guide him to a better place – that’s what you’re responsible for. The good news is that you have the power to influence your child’s decisions by taking control of yourself—and not your teen. As James Lehman says, “ You can lead a horse to water, and while you can’t make him drink, you can make him quite thirsty.”‎ The idea of drawing clear boundaries can be confusing. I think it’s really about saying, “I’m on your side. We love you and we care about you. We don’t like the choices you’re making and this is why we are going to prevent you.” If you have very strong, clear boundaries that you maintain about what you will and won’t do for your child, that’s different than always trying to figure out how to control or change him.‎ Remind your child that this is not about punishment—it’s about welfare. You might say, “We love and care about you, that’s why we’re doing this. This is not punishment for breaking a rule. We’re going to do whatever it takes to keep you safe.”‎ The best part is that you are really controlling what you can control. There is a huge difference between taking your child by the collar and locking him in a room versus taking charge by giving him the proper consequences.‎ ‎32. What should we do if our kids make bad choices?‎ A. Respect their choices. B. Take control of ourselves.‎ C. Point out the bad results. D. Give them proper punishment.‎ ‎33. Why does the author mention James Lehman?‎ A. To show kids need good guidance.‎ B. To show it’s hard to teach tough kids C. To show the responsibility of parents. ‎ D. To show kids can be kept under control.‎ ‎34. What should we say if we want to draw clear boundaries?‎ A. You are to blame for what you do. ‎ B. We’re on your side and always support you. ‎ C. You’ll be sorry for the bad choice you make.‎ D. We love you but don’t like the choice you make.‎ ‎35. What is the text mainly about?‎ A. The reasons why kids make bad choices.‎ B. How to advise kids to make right choices.‎ C. What to do when kids make bad decisions.‎ D. The ways to prevent kids making bad choices.‎ 第二节:根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项是多余选项。(每小题2.5分) ‎ Avoiding these common habits can lighten your mood and lower your risk of falling into depression.‎ Eating processed food.‎ A quick hot dog may be a tasty snack once in a while, but too much highly processed food might leave you feeling bad.
