So men have long hope to find a way to get control of it. But efforts have up to now produced little result. ‎ ‎ Though it is true that no one can change the weather, nor can anybody completely control it, we have learned many things about it from experience and through study. We have found that certain signs appear when there is going to be any big change in the weather. If we read the signs correctly, we can tell what the more important changes in the weather will be. This way of telling what the weather will be like on the following day or two is called “weather forecast”.‎ ‎ People in all counties have for many years studied the weather and tried to make weather forecasts. The following are some of their findings. ‎ ‎ Sometimes distant objects such as hills and tall trees seem to be very clear and near. This is a sign of much water vapor which shows that rain will probably come. ‎ ‎ When distant sounds, such as the noise from far-off trains, are heard very clear, then wet and stormy weather is on the way. ‎ ‎ If you see a rainbow (虹) during rainy weather, this is a sign that it will clear up and become fine. Such rainbows always come in the evening. However, if a rainbow appears in the morning, then you may take it that rainy weather will come. If the stars twinkle clearly at night, then fair weather will probably continue. ‎ ‎ And then many people feel in their bones the coming of wet weather. Their joints(关节) or their old wounds ache, which always tells them it is going to rain.‎ ‎ Most of the above sayings have been made by people who have used their eyes and brains, and they have proved to be very useful in forecasting the weather. ‎ ‎28. The weather _____ .‎ A. has something to do with our life. B. is connected with our life very closely.‎ C. is difficult for us to forecast. D. has nothing to do with our life. ‎ ‎29. ____ is called weather forecast. ‎ A. The way of telling what the weather was like. B. To tell what day it will be tomorrow. ‎ C. The way of telling when it is going to rain. ‎ ‎ D. To tell what the weather on the following day or two will be like. ‎ ‎30. If you see a rainbow in the morning during rainy weather, _____. ‎ A. this sign shows that it will clear up. B. it is going to rain.‎ C. the rainy weather will continue. D. this is a sign that it will be cloudy.‎ ‎               ‎ 第二节 (共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)‎ 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,选项中有两项为多余选项.并在答题卡上将该选项涂黑。 You cannot choose your child’s friends for him, but you can help him learn to choose friends wisely. 31 . The reason is that it takes less time t understand the whole story. Besides, the film is usually more interesting, and it is easier to follow.‎ ‎ Some others have just the opposite opinion. They think that they can get more detailed information from the original. Meanwhile, the language in the book is possibly more lively and beautiful. ‎ ‎ Personally, I agree with the second view. Actually I have more reasons for it. I think I can stay at home, reading quietly in a situation of my own, and what’s more, I am able to better understand the author’s ideas. In a word, to read the original work is better than to see the film based on it. ‎ 听力原文:‎ Text 1‎ W: The movie has been canceled due to the lack of interest.‎ M: What a pity!‎ Text 2‎ W: Do you know anything about online shopping? It’s great. I found a silver plate online today. It’s over a hundred years old. ‎ M: Please don’t tell me you bought it. If you did, you were probably cheated.‎ Text 3‎ M: this machine has many buttons. I can’t figure out which one makes it run.‎ W: You’d better read the instruction book first. Pressing the buttons improperly may cause the machine to break down.‎ Text 4‎ W: Can I get the computer before Friday? My office is just at the corner of the street. ‎ M: Yes, we will deliver it at 8:00 am on Tuesday. And you can get it in half an hour.‎ Text 5‎ W: I’m afraid you’ve been working too hard. You should take a vacation. ‎ M: Tell that to a pile of papers on my desk.‎ Text 6‎ M: Jane, what do you like to do in your spare time?‎ W: I like to play sports.‎ M: Which sport do you play the most- volleyball, basketball, football, or baseball?‎ W: The last one. When I was in high school, I was interested in it. ‎ M: You’re more active than I am. I like reading, photography and computers. ‎ W: I don’t know much about computers. All I have is a typewriter.‎ M: Really? But you can’t get on the Internet with it!‎ W: That’s right. I use the library’s computers when I need to read my e-mails.‎ M: Well, I know what you need for your birthday. ‎ Text 7‎ W: How’s your son these days?‎ M: Oh, he’s fine. He grows up very quickly nowadays.‎ W: He’ll be a teenager before you realize it. Teenagers are often against their parents in our country!‎ M: Is there a big generation gap between parents and children in your country?‎ W: Yes, there is. Teenagers do not want to live traditional life. They want to go out, have fun, and explore the world. They want to develop their own view of life. Parents usually try to control them, but they don’t often succeed. ‎ M: Parents usually give their children more freedom in our country. Sometimes they give them too much freedom.‎ W: It’s almost impossible to get the balance. If you are too strict, kids might ignore you. If you are too kind, they might go wild.‎ Text 8‎ W: Hi, Tom. This is Diana from the writing class.‎ M: Oh, hi, Diana. What’s up?‎ W: Well, I have a new project I thought you might be interested in. I’m setting up a writer’s group, you know, a group for people who are trying to get their works published. ‎ M: Well, how will it work?‎ W: We get together once a week and share what we are working on and offer each other some advice.‎ M: Maybe, I need some advice. I’m working on a short story that I’d like to get published in the Campus Literature Review. I think I saw your poem in the last issue. ‎ W: Yes, I was so excited to finally see my work in print. It was presented three times. You just have to keep trying if they turn you down.‎ M: Well, I’m sure the group could help me.‎ W: OK. We will get someone more experienced to help us, too.‎ M: Sounds great.‎ Text 9‎ W: Morning. So what seems to be the trouble?‎ M: Well, I hardly know where to begin. I feel unhappy most of the day.‎ W: Do you have trouble sleeping.‎ M: No, I’m always sleeping and often feel too tired to do even simple things.‎ W: Do you get worried a lot?‎ M: All the time. I worry about my exams. I worry about my homework. I worry about being late for school.‎ W: And how long has this been going on?‎ M: Well, about two years. I thought it would just go away and it does get a lot better in spring and summer. ‎ W: Ah, do you feel worse in the winter?‎ M: Yes. I’m feeling much better now. The sun seems to burn away my worries. Doctor, do I need to take some medicine?‎ W: No. There is nothing serious. But you must do more exercise.
