It promises people a quiet rest in the middle of the city’s business center.‎ Napping spaces are nothing new; places to rest are already set up in other big cities in the world. But the idea would appear to work well with the culture of Spain, where people traditionally take an afternoon nap, called siesta.‎ The Madrid nap space recently opened with 19 beds. People can use them by the minute or by the hour, and they can also choose either a private or shared room. An hour of napping inside a private room costs about $15.‎ Siesta &Go provides all bedding, clean nightshirts and other materials. Nippers can request to be woken up when their time is up. It also offers areas to work, with armchairs, newspapers and coffee for those not wishing to sleep.‎ Philip &Go is one happy customer. Marco says he gets tired during the day because of hard work. He says a siesta is the perfect way to build up energy. “I come for about 30 minutes or something like that. That is usually enough for me to be full of energy.”‎ While many Spanish people love their naps, others like Carlos Villarroja say they are just too busy to keep the tradition. “It’s a Spanish tradition, but I think it’s more of a legend (传说) than a tradition. Because of the lifestyle and the working hours, we have very little free time for a siesta at least during the week.”‎ But many health experts believe there is evidence that taking a short nap can be very good for the body and mind. Scientific studies show that taking a siesta can also prevent illness and lower blood pressure.‎ ‎28. What is not allowed for customers to do?‎ A. Sleep for free B. Choose a private room C. People learned the stories by heart and taught new ones to one another. Sometimes it was hard to remember them all.   31  ‎ The ancient Egyptians wrote their stories on something made from papyrus (纸莎草) plants. People in other places learned to use papyrus from the Egyptians.   32   So parchment (羊皮纸), made from goatskin, later took its place.‎ In ancient China books looked a little different. At that time, people there used ink to write on bamboo or silk. And then they invented paper. Made of trees, paper was easier and cheaper to make than papyrus or parchment.   33   Papermaking later spread to the West, but there was a big problem with these early books. Every single one had to be copied and written by hand.‎ ‎  34   They carved (雕刻) a page of words into a piece of wood or stone. They could then print the page by spreading ink on the wood or stone and putting it against paper. But it wasn't until a German printer invented movable, metal letters that books became fast and easy to make. The letters could be used to print copy after copy, and the letters put together again and again to print different pages of words.‎ ‎  35   Once a luxury (奢侈品) only the rich could buy, they soon became a treasure everyone could enjoy.‎ A. But papyrus grew mainly in Egypt.‎ B. It took years to finish making just one book.‎ C. Finally books could be printed by the thousands.‎ D. Things grew a little easier when writing was invented.‎ E. Its surface was smoother and better for writing on too.‎ F.  Books in the West didn't change for a long time after that.‎ G. The Chinese were the first to think of a way to speed things up a little.‎ ‎            ‎ 第三部分    语言运用(共两节,满分45分)‎ 第一节    完形填空(共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)‎ 阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。‎ My daughter has been crazy about raising a pet for a long time.     Last spring I bought two newly-hatched chickens for her. One night I went to pick up a passenger at 2:30 a. m. When I arrived to collect, I found the building was dark except for a single light in a ground floor window.‎ I walked to the door and knocked, "Just a minute," answered a weak, elderly voice.‎ After a long time, the door opened. A small woman in her eighties stood before me. By her side was a small suitcase.‎ I took the suitcase to the car, and then returned to help the woman. She took my arm and we walked slowly towards the car.‎ She kept thanking me for my kindness. "It's nothing," I told her. "I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother treated."‎ ‎"Oh, you're such a good man." She said. When we got into the taxi, she gave me an address, and then asked, "Could you drive through downtown?"‎ ‎"It's not the shortest way," I answered quickly.‎ ‎"Oh, I'm in no hurry," she said. "I'm on my way to a hospice  (临终医院). I don't have any family left. The doctor says I don't have very long. "‎ I quietly reached over and shut off the meter (计价器). For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked, the neighborhood where she had lived, and the furniture shop that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl.‎ Sometimes she'd ask me to slow down in front of a particular building and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing.‎ At dawn, she suddenly said, "I'm tired. Let's go now." We drove in silence to the address she had given.‎ ‎"How much do I owe you?" she asked.‎ ‎"Nothing." I said.‎ ‎"You have to make a living," she answered. "Oh, there are other passengers," I answered. She said thanks to me, but she looked so sad.‎ 注意: 1. ‎ Para 1:  Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Para 2:   I was on my way to visit her. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ 义乌市群星外国语学校高二英语1月月考答案 第一部分 听力(共20小题,每小题1.5分,满分30分)‎ ‎1—5 CCACB 6---10 CCABB 11---15 CCAAC 16---20 BCCAB 第二部分 阅读理解 (共两节,满分35分) ‎ 第一节 (共10小题;每小题2.5分,满分25分)‎ ‎21—25 CACCB 26—30 DBABC ‎ 第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10 分)‎ ‎31—35 DAEGC ‎ 第三部分 英语知识运用(共两节,满分45分)‎ 第一节 完形填空(共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)‎ ‎36-40 BCCAA 41-45 DCABC 46-50 ABCBC 51-55 DDCAD 第二节 语法填空(共10小题:每小题1.5分,满分15分)‎ ‎56. caused 57. that 58. the 59. immediately 60.what ‎61. tries 62. choice 63. to 64. yourself 65. to let 第四部分 写作(共两节;满40分)‎ 第一节    应用文写作(满分15分)‎ Dear Ms Smith,‎ ‎    I’m Li Hua, a student of Yucai Middle School.
