Do you have the book called Word for Word? W: Sorry, sir, we’ve just sold out. But we can order one for you. If you give us your number, we’ll call you when the book arrives. Text 2 M: Did you see any monkeys when you were on holiday in Kenya? W: Lots of them! But we weren’t so lucky with the lions and elephants. M: Oh, that’s a pity! Text 3 M: Where’s Mike? Why isn’t he coming with us? W: Oh, he is home at his computer. He can’t come because his research paper is due tomorrow. Text 4 W: We’d better be going now, or we’ll be late for the play. M: No rush. It’s 6:30 now. We still have one hour and let’s have another drink. Text 5 M: Hello, my name is John Smith, and I’m calling to ask about the position advertised in Friday’s Daily Mail. W: Yes, the position is still open. You could come over and have a talk with us. Text 6 M: Are your mum and dad both doctors, Sarah? I saw them in the hospital together yesterday. W: Only my mum is. My dad was a cook before he works for the hospital. He drives an ambulance now. M: That’s nice for them, to work in the same place. W: Yes, my dad is much happier now. Text 7 W: Are you going to practise your guitar with your friends here this morning? M: Matthew’s playing in a football match tonight so we’re going to do it tomorrow. W: Will you wash the car for me then? It’s very dirty. M: Sorry, Mum, I’m going to go and watch Mattew play. I’ll do the car for you at the weekend. Text 8 M: Hi, Mum! I’ve decided to move from my room at the university and into a flat with some friends. 7 W: Is the flat near the university, Rob? M: About twenty minutes by bicycle and there are buses every half hour. But I’ll walk through the park and have breakfast at a cafe there with my friends. W: Will the flat be quiet so you can study? M: There’s a shoe shop downstairs, but it’s never busy, and there’s not much traffic. W: Is it expensive? M: Two hundred pounds a week, but there are five of us, so that’s forty pounds each, which isn’t bad. W: Good. When will you move? M: On Saturday. W: If you can wait until the next day, Dad and I will help you, so you’re ready for classes on Monday. M: OK. Thanks, Mum! Text 9 W: Hi, Jude. I like your walking shoes. I haven’t seen any like them in England before. M: They’re Italian, Sue. I got them for my holiday in Austria last month. W: I need some like them, because I’m going to go there too. M: Not many shops sell them. I got mine at the market, but they may have some at the new supermarket. W: How much were they? M: I think they usually cost sixty-eight pounds, but mine were only forty-eight, so I paid twenty pounds less. I was really pleased. W: I’ll get some this afternoon. Is there anything else special I should take? M: Well, pack a hat, because the sun can be strong in the mountains. I took a sweater and a jacket, but I never needed them. W: Anything else? M: Take lots of T-shirts, one for each day you’re going to go walking. W: That’s five days of my week’s holiday. And what about taking a phone? M: Well, there’ll be one in your hotel, if you want to call home. But take yours, because then you can call someone if you get lost in the mountains. W: Thanks, Jude. We are open six days a week, from Tuesday to Sunday, from nine a.m. until five thirty p.m. Visitors are welcome from April to 7 February, but we have to close in March for painting and repairs. Every morning at eleven, there is a short film about the sea. Go to the Visitor Centre to watch this. The film is followed by a short talk about the different animals living in the sea. The dolphin show begins at two fifteen every afternoon, but to make sure we can start on time, we ask everyone to be in their seats by two o’clock. The shop at Sea World is open all day. Children will like the many different toys and books on sale there. There is also a cafe, where you can get drinks and snacks. Adult tickets cost seven pounds and tickets for children are four pounds twenty-five. There are special prices for school groups. Thank you for calling Sea World. 7查看更多
