As we grow, marry, fight in wars, move across the country or change jobs, old friendships fall away and new ones form. As long as we live, the things around us change, and as long as things change, friendships are affected. When we were children, we had best friends. No matter what happened we were still friends. We live our lives, however, and do what life calls for us to do, and as we got older, memories fade, faces blur(变得模糊),and even friend’s names from childhood are forgotten. Do you have a question about friendship? Do you wonder what to do with a friend who is no longer friendly? Perhaps you will see that you can't control others. If someone wants to be your friend, it is their choice. All you can do is to treat them well and do the best for them when you are with them. Then you wish them well when they leave. You can talk to old timers and they will tell you that life is full of incredible(令人难以置信的)joy and incredible sorrow, and that what bothers you today will one day becomes a memory and the pain will be gone. Seniors might tell you that you will learn more as you get older. They will tell you that friendships come and friendships go. Sometimes when they go it will hurt, but you will be okay with it. It's the way life works, after all. 24.What can we learn about friendship, according to the text? A.Friends in childhood are the best no matter what happens. B.Friendship can not be easily affected by one's family. C.Friends are always around us and will never go away. D.Friends in childhood are sometimes forgotten by us. 25.What should we do with friends who are no longer friendly in the author's opinion? A.Find the reason why our friendship has changed. B.Care about them and do the best for them when we are together. C.Forget them and make new friends who have a lot in common with us. D.Do our best to control them and make them listen to us. 26.What the old timers and seniors in the last paragraph tell you about friendship will . A.make you have no good friends B.remind you to always help your friends C.lead you to be a powerful man D.help you have healthy understanding of friendship 27.The best title of the passage could be . A.How to share happiness with friends. B.How to face the changes in friendship C.How to deal with unfriendly people D.How to make good friends C One second-grade student wanted to help erase school lunch debt for her fellow students, so she decided to create lemonade stands to raise funds(资金). Amiah Van Hill was inspired to raise funds to help pay off her classmates’ lunch debt back in May after reading about Jeffery Lew. The father of three crowd-funded to cover the cost of unpaid lunches in the Seattle School District, where his 8-year-old son took part. “She’s a really strong reader, so she read the story and said, ‘Wow, this is great! I wonder if there's any kids at my school that need help paying their lunches,’” said her mother ,Rachel Van Hill. Amiah, 6, and Aria, 4, discovered that at Hayden Meadows Elementary School in Idaho, the unpaid lunch debt was $40.55. They set up a lemonade stand last month to raise the money, with a sign reading, “Lemonade 4 Lunch.” During their first set-up, the two met their goal within an hour. The school was very much appreciative. Principal Lisa Pica said “Our school believes in giving back to the community and we are excited that Amiah has got that value at such a young age and we are so proud that she has found a way to help those in need. She is a very special little lady.” After discovering it was “easy” to pay off one school’s debt, they set up another lemonade stand a week later to raise money for two more local schools. The girls then decided to set their sights higher and raise funds for the entire Coeur d’Alene Public School district. In 22 days, they’ve raised more than $2,700. The school district is excited to recognize her for her good deed. 28.What made Amiah decide to create lemonade stands? A.Her own lunch debt. B.Her reading interest. C.The advice from her mother. D.The example of Jeffery Lew. 29.Why is Amiah called “a special little lady” by her principal? A.She learned to sell lemonade. B.She was proud of her community. C.She helped the community in her own way. D.She helped her school set the school value. 30.When did Amiah decide to raise money for Coeur d’Alene Public School district? A.After raising more than $2,700. B.When she was praised by her school. C.After raising money for two more schools. D.When people in the district recognized her. 31.Which of the following can best describe the character of Amiah? A.Caring and helpful. B.Hard-working and curious. C.Learned and kind. D.Easy-going and generous. D Going green is becoming increasingly attractive as a business strategy. As scientists and politicians debate the truth of global warming and dwindling(逐渐减少的) natural resources, green industry practices are not only supported by the public, but enjoying the benefits of cost savings, supportive government policies and everincreasing profits. Trends in shopping, government policies and costs all point towards more green industry opportunities in the years ahead. The green industry focuses on making a profit while having a negligible(微不足道的) impact on the environment. And more and more consumers are interested in environmentally friendly business practices and products. A recent survey found that 88% of Americans believe taking care of the Earth is very important—but only 52% believe that the government should be taking action to protect it. So green business can benefit either way:greater consumer interest or more protective policy!Globally,a report from 2014 says that 55% of consumers across 60 countries are willing to pay higher prices for goods from environmentallyconscious (有环保意识的) companies. A 2013 study claims that 71% of Americans at least consider the environment as a factor when shopping. Organic food sales in particular seem to have turned a corner, jumping 11.3% in 2014,while overall food sales grew only 3%.Organic food has become far more popular over the last several years—expanding well beyond the market it once was. Sales in 2014 were over 35 billion—compared to only 3.4 billion in 1997.Growth is expected to continue strongly until at least 2018.Clearly,consumers care more now than ever about green industry and have the resources to find the products that meet their requirements. We can be sure that producing more pollution is never going to seem like a good idea again. Green industry methods are on the rise because they’re increasingly demanded by consumers, sought after by businessmen and required by governments. Sustainable(可持续的) business practices acknowledge the finite resources available and reduce costs through renewable resources;they attract more and more customers and have enormous potential to grow into the mainstream. For both individuals and companies, the green industry makes sense now,and probably forever. 32.According to the passage, which of the following may be regarded as a “green industry”? A.The mining industry. B.The chemical industry. C.The manufacturing industry. D.The solar energy industry. 33.The author uses figures in the second paragraph to show that . C.A basic introduction to the green industry. D.Marketing strategies for the green industry. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Smart tips for budget-conscious travelers Traveling can be an experience of a lifetime.
