Think about the kind of clothes you really need. Then look for those clothes on sale.‎ ‎     There are labels inside all new clothes. The labels tell you how to take care of your clothes. The label for a shirt may tell you to wash it in warm water. A sweater label may tell you to wash by washing in cold water. The label on a coat may say "dry clean only." Washing may ruin(损坏)this coat. If you do as the directions say on the label, you can keep your clothes looking their best. Many clothes today must be dry cleaned. Dry cleaning is expensive. When buying new clothes, check to see if they will need to be dry cleaned. You will save money if you buy clothes that can be washed.‎ ‎      You can save money if you buy clothes that are well made. Well-made clothes last longer. They look good even after they have been washed many times. Clothes that cost more money are not always better made. They do not always fit better. Sometime less expensive clothes look and fit better than more expensive clothes.‎ ‎21.If you want to save money you can buy clothes that _____. ‎ A.donˈt fit you          B.donˈt last long ‎ C.can be washed D.need to be dry cleaned    ‎ ‎22.The label inside the clothes tell you______. ‎ A.how to save money B.how to keep them looking their best ‎ C.whether they fit you or not D.where to get them dry cleaned ‎ ‎23.The first thing for you to do before you buy clothes is ______. ‎ A.to see how much money you can pay B.to look for well-made clothes ‎ C.to know how to wash them D.to read the labels inside them ‎ ‎24.We learn from the reading that cheaper clothes ______. ‎ A.are always worse made          B.must be dry cleaned ‎ C.can sometimes fit you better D.can not be washed               ‎ B I’m sure you’ve asked this when traveling, “Can I drink the tap water?” It is easy to get confused about where it’s safe to drink and where it’s not, especially if you’re planning a multi-destination trip. Some countries like India and Mexico are well known for unsafe tap water but where else is it a health risk?‎ If you want a quick reference for where on the Earth the water is safe, we’ve got you covered with this helpful graph(图表). It was created by Just the Flight. All of the information about water safety is based on data from the CDC. The graph also shows pricing for bottled water and beer for each country as well!‎ Have plans to travel to a place where the tap water is deemed(认定的) unsafe? Remember to skip ice in your drinks and avoid uncooked fruit and vegetables unless they’ve been peeled(削皮). Make sure to use bottled water when brushing your teeth as well.‎ Please know that not all of the countries listed on the graph have dirty or polluted water. I know from personal experience: tap water may be safe at different elevations(海拔)and in different areas within a country shown as unsafe on the graph. Finally, further research is required. However, if you fall short of that, you’d better follow the advice on the graph to avoid an uncomfortable case of traveler’s illness.‎ It’s definitely better to be safe than sorry!‎ ‎25.Which of the following is the best title? ‎ A.Drinking Tap Water is Good for Our Health ‎ B.Where on the Earth Can You Drink Safe Tap Water? ‎ C.How Can We Get Tap Water? ‎ D.Tap Water is Always Safe to Drink ‎ ‎26.What can we learn from the graph? ‎ A.It only contains the information about water safety. ‎ B.It also shows pricing for some kinds of wine. ‎ C.It is of great help when traveling.‎ D.It was created by the CDC. ‎ ‎27.The passage is most likely to be found in . ‎ A.an academic essay B.a tourist magazine              ‎ C.a news report                    D.a short-story collection ‎ C The Internet has become part of teenage life.‎ ‎    A new report on 3,375 students aged from 10 to 18 in seven Chinese cities found that 38 percent of them believe they use the Internet often. The study was carried out by researchers at Peking University in China and Yale University in the United States. Xi Chen of the Yale School of Public Health led the study.‎ The researchers studied about 25,000 people from across China. The youngest people in the study were 10 years old, while the oldest was 90. They came from 25 of China’s 34 provinces. These Chinese men, women and children were given language and math ‎ tests. Then researchers compared the test results with levels of pollution in the air. They found that breathing polluted air can reduce(减少) a person’s education level by about one year.‎ Chen said that the effect(影响) generally is worse for those over 64 years of age, for men and for those with little or no education. “The older persons are more influenced. And we find, quite interestingly, males are more influenced than females. And people working outdoors are more influenced than people working indoors.”‎ The researchers reported that long-term exposure(暴露) to air pollution can influence a person’s mental abilities in two areas: language and maths. They noted that the influence of pollution on spoken language ability is even more serious as people age, especially among men and the less educated. ‎ ‎32. Polluted air has a bad influence on one’s education level.‎ ‎34. In which area does air pollution influence people’s mental abilities?‎ ‎ A. Health B. Brain C. Thoughts D. Language ‎35. What is the writer’s purpose in writing the text?‎ ‎ A. To show ways of fighting against air pollution.‎ ‎ B. To introduce a new study about air pollution.‎ ‎ C.
