Not only did I have the opportunity to live in France, but I was able to see some other countries with my girlfriend. Now she is studying in Essen,a large city in Western Germany. I recently went to stay with her—it was my first visit to Germany!Essen is a very large city. It has all the conveniences of any large city so I felt immediately at home. I loved the variety of shops, restaurants, shopping malls, cocktail bars, nightclubs, parks and even a lake. There is also a citywide network of trams, which makes getting around a piece of cake!‎ I found the people to be really friendly, and most Germans speak very good English which made life easy for me. I was surprised by the casual attitude to alcohol in ‎ Germany, where it seems normal for people to drink beer on the street,or on the tram. My girlfriend and I visited two famous local cities,Düsseldorf and Cologne, which are both on the Rhine River. Düsseldorf is an urban metropolis with a great variety of restaurants. We took a boat tour on the river and went up the Rhine Tower,a really tall building which offers great views across the city. Cologne,as you might know,is world-famous for its perfumes. The cathedral there is an unmissable landmark. We made the effort to climb to the top of one of the cathedral's towers. The spiral (螺旋的) stairs seemed endless, but it was worthwhile for the impressive sights from the top.‎ We also went in a cable car over the river and tasted a German delicacy called “Spaghettieis” which is ice cream with strawberry sauce!I also got to try the famous German sausage. I must admit,I really enjoyed the food! The only disappointment was the grey and rainy weather, which proves that Britain does not have the worst weather in Europe!‎ ‎24.Why did the writer feel lucky this year?‎ A.He will have a chance to live in Germany.‎ B.He met his girlfriend in France by chance.‎ C.He got an opportunity of learning in Germany.‎ D.He was able to live in France and visit other countries.‎ ‎25.What do Düsseldorf and Cologne have in common?‎ A.They are both famous for unique perfumes.‎ B.They both serve traditional German sausage.‎ C.They both have many towers with a long history.‎ D.They both offer wonderful views from the tower top.‎ ‎26.According to the writer, which country has the worst weather in Europe?‎ A.Britain. B.Germany. C.France. D.Italy.‎ ‎27.What can be the best title of the passage?‎ A.An unforgettable trip B.A guide to Germany C.My first visit to Germany D.A brief introduction of Germany C Are you sometimes a little tired and sleepy in the early afternoon? Many people feel this way after lunch. They may think that eating lunch is the cause of the sleepiness. Or,in summer, they may think it is the heat. However, the real reason lies inside their bodies. At that time—about eight hours after you wake up—your ‎ body temperature goes down. This is what makes you slow down and feel sleepy. Scientists have tested sleep habits in experiments where there was no night or day. The people in these experiments almost always followed a similar sleeping pattern. They slept for one long period and then for one short period about eight hours later.‎ In many parts of the world, people take naps (小睡) in the middle of the day. This is especially true in warmer climates, where the heat makes work difficult in the early afternoon. Researchers are now saying that naps are good for everyone in any climate. A daily nap gives one a more rested body and mind and therefore is good for health in general. In countries where naps are traditional, people often suffer less from problems such as heart disease. Many working people, unfortunately, have no time to take naps. Though doctors may advise taking naps, employers don't follow it! If you do have the chance, however, here are a few tips about making the most of your nap. Remember that the best time to take a nap is about eight hours after you get up. A short sleep too late in the day may only make you feel more tired and sleepy afterward. This can also happen if you sleep for too long. If you do not have enough time, try a short nap — even ten minutes of sleep can be helpful.‎ ‎28.Why do you sometimes feel sleepy in the early afternoon?‎ A.Because you eat too much for lunch.‎ B.Because it's hot in summer.‎ C.Because your body temperature goes down at that time.‎ D.Because you didn't have a good sleep last night.‎ ‎29.What can we learn about “naps” according to the last paragraph?‎ A.All the people in warmer climates take naps in the middle of the day.‎ B.Doctors need to take naps while employers don't.‎ C.If you take naps every day, you'll never suffer from heart disease.‎ D.Taking naps regularly is beneficial to people's health.‎ ‎30.What can we infer from the passage?‎ A.If you get up at 6:30 am,you'd better take a nap at about 2:30 pm.‎ B.Taking a nap whenever you want will do good to your health.‎ C.You will feel less sleepy if you sleep for a long time.‎ D.You'll feel sleepy at regular intervals.‎ ‎31.What would be the best title for the text?‎ A.Just for a Rest B.All for a Nap ‎ C.A Special Sleep Pattern D.Taking Naps in Warmer Climates ‎ ‎ D Johnny Smith was a good math student at a high school. He loved his computer. He came home early every day, then he worked with it till midnight. But Johnny was not a good English student, not good at all. He got an F in his English class. ‎ One day after school Johnny joined his computer to the computer in his high school office. The school office computer had the grades of all the students: the math grades, the science grades, the grades in arts and music, and the grades in English. He found his English grade. An F! Johnny changed his English grade from an F to A. Johnny' parents looked at his report card. They were very happy.   "An A in English!" said Johnny's Dad. "You're a very clever boy, Johnny."   Johnny is a hacker. ‎ Hackers know how to take information from other computers and put new information in. Using a modem, they join their computers to other computers  secretly. School headmasters and teachers are worried about hackers. So are the police, for some people even take money from bank computer account and put it into their own ones. And they never have to leave home to do it! They are called hackers.     ‎ ‎32. Johnny changed his English grade with the computer in _______. ‎ A. the classroom     B. the school office  ‎ C. a bank near his house   D. his own house  ‎ ‎33. When Johnny's parents saw the report, they were happy because _______. ‎ A. Johnny was good at math  ‎ B. Johnny loved computers  ‎ C. Johnny could join one computer to another   ‎ D. they thought Johnny was not poor in English any longer ‎ ‎34. Who are worried about hackers in the story?  ‎ A. Johnny's parents.  B. School headmasters, teachers and the police. ‎ C. The police.   D. School headmasters and teachers.  ‎ ‎35. The last paragraph is about _______.  ‎ A. Johnny  B. computers    C. hackers   D. model 第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)‎ 根据短文内容, 从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。‎ Moving abroad can be a challenging experience.
