‎ A ‎ It’s 2035. You have a job, a family and you’re about 40 old. Welcome to your future life.‎ ‎    Getting ready for work, you pause in front of the mirror, “Turn red,” you say. Your shirt changes from sky blue to deep red. Tiny preprogrammed electronics are rearranged in your shirt to change its color. Looking into the mirror, you find it hard to believe that you are 40. You look much younger. With amazing advances in medicine, people in your generation may live to be 150 years old. You’re not even middle-aged.‎ ‎    As you go into the kitchen and prepare to pour your breakfast cereal into a bowl, you hear: “To lose weight, you shouldn’t eat that,” from your shoes. They read the tiny electronic code on the cereal box to find out the nutrition details. You decide to listen to your shoes. “Kitchen, what can I have for breakfast?” A list of possible foods appear on the counter as kitchen checks its food supplies.‎ ‎    “Ready for your trip to space?”You ask your son and daughter. In 2005 only specially trained astronauts went into space — and very few of them. Today anyone can go to space for day trips or longer vacation. Your best friend even works in space. Handing your children three strawberries each, your add, “The doctor said you need these for space travel.” Thanks to medical advices, vaccination shots are a thing of the past. Ordinary foods contain specific vaccines. With the berries in their mouths, the kids head for the front door.‎ ‎    It’s time for you to go to work. Your car checks your fingerprints and unlocks the doors. “My office. Autopilot,” you command. Your car drives itself down the road and moves smoothly into traffic on the highway. You sit back and unroll your e-newspaper. The latest news downloads and fills the viewer. Looking through the pages, you watch the news as video films rather than read it.‎ 21. What changes the color of your shirt? A.The mirror. B.The shirt itself. C.The counter. D.The medicine. 22.How do the shoes know that you shouldn’t eat the breakfast cereal? A.By pouring the breakfast into a bowl. ‎ B.By listening to the doctor’s advice.‎ C.By testing the food supplies in the kitchen. ‎ D.By checking the nutrition details of the food. 23.The strawberries the children eat serve as ______. A.breakfast B.lunch C.vaccines D.nutrition 24.How is the text organized? A.In order of time. ‎ B.In order of place. C.In order of preference. ‎ D.In order of importance.‎ B Can you imagine being paid millions for playing in a sports team? That you were able to fill stadiums with people coming to see you play? That you could attract fans crazily like a superstar?ESports have made all that possible and more. The fever for video games has had a great influence on the sports industry. ‎ To what degree ESports,or electronic sports can be considered a sport remains a question. If we stick to the meaning in the dictionary, sport is understood to be any physical activity, whether a game or competition, that requires training and following rules.A second meaning is:all kinds of physical activities are done for health or for fun. ‎ Spending hours and hours in front of a computer or with a mobile phone in hand playing video games is not a physical activity. But when the voices that defend it belong to famous athletes, and when the International Olympic Committee itself is seriously thinking about the possibility of introducing ESports in the 2020 Olympic Games,it is at least worth considering the argument. ‎ It is clear that ESports has had a big influence on the sports industry and its fans are increasing all the time.Athletes, sports teams, sponsors(赞助商)inside and outside the sport, and the media support the industry greatly, which attracts and satisfies the young generation.Professional video game competitions have made nearly﹩900 million over the past three years thanks to sponsorship and advertising. The industry is expected to make over﹩1.1 billion and reach 215 million users in 2019,according to a study by the consultant Newzoo. ‎ The big players in the ESports leagues have turned their ‘hobby’ into a profession which offers a chance to gain fame or become famous. Those guys who distance themselves from the world, shutting themselves up for up to 12 hours a day in a dark room to connect with people from all over the planet through a video game, now fill large stadiums and compete for prizes that are over one million dollars. They are the envy of half the planet! ‎ As a famous NBA superstar,Shaquille O'Neal says“the fans themselves are the ones who opened my eyes. ESports are a great business chance and the industry cannot be left out.” ‎ While millions of dollars are paid around the world for these new idols,we can continue to argue whether they are sports or not.If only for fun… ‎ ‎25.Which is right according to the passage? ______ ‎ A. ESports attract all people for the prizes. ‎ B. ESports have no clear effect on business. ‎ C. ESports are different from the sports people traditionally consider. ‎ D. ESports have little influence on the sports industry. ‎ ‎26.Why do the big players in the ESports become the envy of half the planet? ______ ‎ A. They have turned their ‘hobby' into a profession, earning fame and wealth. ‎ B. They shut themselves up for up to 12 hours a day, playing video games. ‎ C. They can connect with people from all over the planet through a video game. ‎ D. They have got support from famous athletes and the International Olympic Committee. ‎ ‎27.What's the best title of the passage? ______ ‎ A. Esports:a way to wealth ‎ B. Esports:a great opportunity C. Esports:a meaningful sport ‎ D. Esports:sport or business C It happened to me recently. I was telling someone how much I had enjoyed reading Barack Obama’s Dreams From My Father and how it had changed my views of our President. A friend I was talking to agreed with me that it was, in his words, “a brilliantly (精彩地)written book”. However, he then went on to talk about Mr. Obama in a way which suggested he had no idea of his background at all. I sensed that I was talking to a book liar.‎ And it seems that my friend is not the only one. About two thirds of people have lied about reading a book which they haven’t. In the World Book Day’s “Report on Guilty Secrets”, Dreams From My Father is at number 9. The report lists ten books, and various authors, which people have lied about reading, and as I’m not one to lie too often (I’d hate to be caught out), I’ll admit here and now that I haven’t read the entire top ten. But I am pleased to say that, unlike 42 percent of people, I have read the book at number one, George Orwell’s 1984. I think it’s really brilliant.‎ The World Book Day report also has some other interesting information in it. It says that many people lie about having read Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Fyodor Dostoevsky (I haven’t read him, but haven’t lied about it either) and Herman Melville.‎ Asked why they lied, the most common reason was to “impress” someone they were speaking to. This could be tricky if the conversation became more in–depth!‎ But when asked which authors they actually enjoy, people named J. K. Rowling, John Grisham, Sophie Kinsella (ah, the big sellers, in other words). Forty-two percent of people asked admitted they turned to the back of the book to read the end before finishing the story (I’ll come clean: I do this and am astonished that 58 percent said they had never done so).‎ ‎28.How did the author find his friend a book liar?‎ A.By judging his manner of speaking. ‎ B.By looking into his background.‎ C.By mentioning a famous name. ‎ D.By discussing the book itself.‎ ‎29.By lying about reading, a person hopes to______.‎ A.control the conversation ‎ B.appear knowledgeable C.learn about the book ‎ D.make more friends ‎30.What is the author’s attitude to 58% of readers mentioned in the ending part of the passage?‎ A. Favorable. B. Uncaring C. Doubtful D. Friendly 第一节 ‎(共5小题,每小题2分,共10分)‎ ‎ 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。‎ The jobs of the future have not yet been invented.____31___ By helping them develop classic skills that will serve them well no matter what the future holds.‎ ‎1.Curiosity Your children need to be deeply curious.___32____ Ask kids, “What ingredients (配料)can we add to make these pancakes even better ?” and then try them out. Ingredients make the pancakes better? What could we try next time?‎ ‎ 2. Creativity True creativity is the ability to take something existing and create something new.___33____There are a dozen different things you can do with them. Experimenting with materials to create something new can go a long way in helping them develop their creativity.‎ ‎3.Personal skills Understanding how others feel can be a challenge for kids. We know what’s going on inside our own head, but what about others? Being able to read people helps kid from misreading a situation and jumping to false conclusions.___34____ “Why do you think she’s crying?” “Can you tell how that man is feeling by looking at his face?” “If someone were to do that to you, how would you feel?”‎ ‎4. Self Expression ‎___35____There are many ways to express thoughts and ideas –music, acting, drawing, building, photography. You may find that your child is attracted by one more than another.‎ A. Encourage kids to cook with you.‎ B. And we can’t forget science education.‎ C. We can give kids chances to think about materials in new ways.‎ D. So how can we help our kids prepare for jobs that don’t yet exist?‎ E. Gardening is another great activity for helping kids develop this skill.‎ F. We can do this in real life or ask questions about characters in stories.‎ G. Being able to communicate ideas in a meaningful way is a valuable skill.‎ 第三部分 语言应用(共两节,满分45分)‎ 第一节 完形填空 (共20小题,每小题1.5分,共30分)‎ 阅读下面短文,掌握其大意,然后从各题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中选出最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。‎ When Jean Harper was in the third grade, her teacher gave the class an assignment to write a report on what they wanted to be when they grew up.‎ Jean’s father was a crop duster     36      in the little farming community where Jean was raised.
