I stopped at a gas station about 50 miles from Oklahoma City. While I was standing in line at the cash register(收款台), I said hello to an older couple who were also paying for gas. ‎ I took off, but had gone only a few miles when black smoke poured from the back of my car. I stopped and wondered what I should do. A car pulled up behind me. It was the couple . They said they would take me. We chatted on the way , and when I got out of the car, the husband gave me his business card. I wrote them a thank-you note . Soon afterward, I received a Christmas present from them. Their note that came with it said that helping me had made their holidays meaningful.‎ ‎ Years later, I drove to a meeting in the morning. In late afternoon I found that I'd left the lights on all day, and the battery(电池)was dead. Then I noticed that the Friendly Ford dealership – a shop selling cars – was right next door. I walked over and found two salesmen in the showroom. ‎ ‎"Just how friendly is Friendly Ford?" I asked and explained my trouble. They quickly drove a pickup truck to my car and started it. They would accept no payment, so when I got home, I wrote them a note to say thanks. I received a letter back from one of the salesmen. No one had ever taken the time to write him and say thank you, and it meant a lot, he said. ‎ ‎"Thank you" – two powerful words. They're easy to say and mean so much.‎ ‎_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎_____________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎_____________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎_____________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎_____________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎_____________________________________________________________________________‎ 嵊州市高级中学2016学年第一学期期末考试 高二英语试题答案 第Ⅰ卷 第一部分 听力(共2节,满分30分)‎ ‎1---5 CBACB 6---10 ABCAB 11---15 BAACA 16---20 CCACB ‎ 第二部分:阅读理解(共两节,满分35分)‎ ‎ 第一节:(共10个小题;每小题2.5分,满分25分) ‎ ‎21---23 BAC 24---26 CDD 27---30 DCAB 第二节 ‎:(共5个小题;每小题2分,满分10分)‎ ‎31---35 GFDAB 第三部分:语言运用(共两节,满分45分) ‎ 第一节 ‎:完形填空(共20个小题,每小题1.5分,满分30分)‎ ‎36---40 DBADB 41---45 DBACB 46---50 CDCAC 51---55 ABACC 第II卷 第二节 ‎:(共10小题;每小题1.5分,满分15分) ‎ 56. who 57.has studied 58.Taken 59.observing 60.activities ‎ ‎61.about 62. the 63.argued 64.entertainment 65.greatly 第四部分:写作(共两节,满分40分)‎ ‎ 第一节:应用文写作(满分15分)‎ To whom it may concern,‎ ‎ I am Li Hua from Class Ten Senior One.
