英语试题 一、阅读理解(本大题共15小题,共45分)‎ A BEIJING—More Chinese consumers prefer to make payments via smart devices as mobile apps have made purchases much easier, but security concerns remain, a PwC report said. ‎ Nearly one-third of respondents in China chose mobile payment when shopping last year, doubling from 16 percent in 2014, according to the accounting firm’s global retail (零售) survey. The figure appeared much higher than the world’s average of 12 percent.‎ The popularity comes as a result of rapid growth of mobile payment options and an expanding mobile network, the report said.‎ Chinese have started to enjoy a wide range of mobile payment options that allow faster, securer payment through near field communication and QR code. Moreover, more advances have been seen in biometric technology, such as the use of fingerprints and facial recognition.‎ ‎“As competition becomes fierce, mobile payment players are trying to attract users through the continuous development of technology and business models,” said Yuqing Guo, PwC China’s financial service consulting partner, adding that the technology is changing the way consumers assess and purchase products.‎ But security problems are rising. Data security was still seen as a huge problem, with leak of user information, payment fraud (诈骗) and virus attacks appearing as the three biggest challenges for the rapid growing field. The PwC report said over 60 percent of respondents were worried that their personal information was not safe.‎ Chinese government has introduced a series of policies to strengthen strict supervision (监督). In the meantime, people should avoid scanning QR codes from unknown sources and raise awareness of fraudulence.‎ The field still has vast space for growth due to technological advances and the rise of the tech-savvy younger generation, the report said, predicting China’s retail and consumer product industry will post an annual growth rate of 7.5 percent between 2016 and 2020.‎ 1. He said nothing, only smiled sweetly  at my father, and wished him a Merry Christmas. The happy man handed Dad the bag and walked away down the block.‎ We never knew who the man was and who showed us great kindness on a snowy Christmas night. We do know, however, that without him we would have had nothing under the tree. His kindness gave my parents hope and showed us in a very real way the true meaning of Christmas.‎ Our family has never forgotten this kind stranger. Each year we tell the story of the mysterious Santa Claus and try to repay his gifts by giving gifts to others in need.‎ 2. From smart-home security to self-driving cars, all the internet-connected devices in your life will be able to talk to each other at lightning-fast speeds with reduced delay. Objectively speaking, the fastest 4G download speeds in the U. S. top out at an average of 19.42 Mbps. But by comparison 5G promises gigabit(千兆)speeds.‎ ‎“5G is one of those signs, along with artificial intelligence, of this coming data age,” said Steve Koenig, senior director of market research for the Consumer Technology Association. “The self-driving vehicle is a great emblem of this data age, and that is to say, it is a sign of time, because with one single task, driving, you have massive amounts of data coming from the vehicle itself, and a variety of sensors are collecting a lot of information to model its environment as it moves. It's pulling in data from other vehicles about road conditions down the lane. It could be weather information, but also connected infrastructure(基础设施)construction. There's lots of data behind that task, which is why we need high speed.‎ Augmented reality glasses and virtual headset haven't yet broken the mainstream, but tech companies are joyfully betting that these devices will eventually replace our smartphones. With 5G, that could actually happen. This is notable because companies such as Apple are reportedly developing AR glasses to assist—or perhaps even replace—smartphones.‎ Ericsson stated at February's Mobile World Congress how smart glasses could become faster and lighter with a 5G connection, because instead of being weighed down with components, the glasses could rely on hardware for processing power.‎ But don't get too excited. There's still a lot of work to be done in the meantime, including various trials to make sure the radios play nicely with hardware and infrastructure construction so 5G isn't concentrated only in big cities.‎ 1. What does the author want to stress in Paragraph 1?‎ A. The lighting-fast speed of 5G. B. The expectation of 5G world. C. The difference between 4G and 5G. D. The internet-connected devices in our life.‎ 2. What does the underlined word “emblem” in Paragraph 2 mean?‎ A. Exhibition. B. Success. C. Symbol. D. Explanation.‎ 3. We can infer from the text that _________.‎ A. 5G world won’t come without AR glasses B. 5G helps to create the artificial intelligence vehicle C. Apple company is developing AR glasses worldwide D. Tech companies will face the fact that smartphones may be replaced 4. What will the author probably tell us next?‎ A. How to fully expand 5G coverage. B. Smart glasses will become faster and lighter. C. Why 5G isn’t concentrated in big cities. D. The importance of infrastructure construction.‎ D My 16-year-old son, Anton, had gone to the local swimming hole. Most of the kids swim there, and there are plenty of rocks for them to use as safe harbors, so I had no fears for his safety. ‎ Still, the firefighter’s first words “You need to come up here to the Stillwater River” made me catch my breath, and his follow-up words gave me relief: “Your son is OK.”‎ When I got to the river, I immediately saw the firetruck, ambulance and Anton, wrapped with a towel about his shoulders, sitting quietly on a low platform of the fire engine.‎ I hurried over to him. “You OK?” I asked.‎ ‎“Yeah,” was all he said. But my eyes begged for an explanation. I didn’t get it from my son, however, who tends to play his cards close to his vest.‎ The story was this: A woman was being swept under water. Hearing the cries, Anton and his friend Tyler, without hesitation, swam out to her, and brought her safely to shore.‎ In an age in which the word “hero” is broadcast with abandon and seemingly applied to anyone who made it through the day, I realized the real thing in my son. The teens are stubborn and self-centered, but that didn’t mean they have no desire to do good.‎ Still shocked by my son’s daring, I drove him home. Along the way, I tried to dig out some more information from him---- but he had precious little to say. The only words he said were, “What’s for supper?”‎ I spent some time alone that evening, thinking about the tragedy that might have been. The next morning, when Anton got up, I half expected him to tell me the story. But all he did was toast some bread, pull himself together, and head for the door to start a new day. Watching from the window, I was reminded that still water often runs deep.‎ 1. Why did the mother allow her son to swim there?‎ A. He was an excellent swimmer. B. The water of the river is shallow. C. The rocks can be of help if there’s danger. D. He was old enough to swim.‎ 2. The underlined part “who tends to play his cards close to his vest” probably means __________.‎ A. Anton is a boy fond of swimming with other kids B. Anton seldom changes his mind C. Anton always has a desire to help others D. Anton is unwilling to tell others what he thinks 1. In the mother’s eyes, what her son did was _______________.‎ A. dangerous but interesting B. meaningful but difficult C. awful and absurd D. unexpected and courageous 2. What might be the best title for the passage?‎ A. My Son, My Hero B. Anton, A Silent Boy C. A Good Deed D. A Proud Mother 二、阅读七选五(本大题共5小题,共15分)‎ ‎  Talking to strangers along your travels can change your trip into an adventure. Here are rules of thumb to serve as your guide.‎ Donˈt ignore your fellow tourists. When you go to some place off the beaten path, youˈre likely to meet other tourists there.
