‎ A ‎(2019·南昌一模)Some of the best cycling routes in the world pass through the most beautiful scenery. Here are some of world's best bike routes for cyclists who are either up for having a good sweat or simply seeing the world without leaving an ugly carbon footprint behind.‎ The Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia If you like a challenge, take on this 243kilometer windy road along Australia's southeastern coast. If a day is all you've got, take the 60kilometer route from Torquay to Bells Beach. There you'll cycle through rural farmland, enjoy the sweeping ocean views from cliff tops, and snake past the wetlands around Lake Connewarre.‎ The Udaipur City Tour, Rajasthan, India Biking is arguably the best way to explore Udaipur, Venice of the East.‎ Cyclists often need to cycle past herdsmen and their goats and ‎ camels, sharing narrow, old pavements in this romantic place. But surrounded by ancient castles and grand palaces, Udaipur brings about one of the best biking experiences, allowing cyclists to truly discover rural India.‎ The Karakoram Highway, ChinaPakistan The Karakoram Highway is the highest international road in the world, reaching an altitude of 4,717 meters near the Khunjerab Pass. Starting in Kashgar, China, cyclists can travel up to 1,200 kilometers on mostly unpaved roads, but the views are as breathtaking as the riding.‎ The Route of the Hiawatha, IdahoMontana, United States Take your family out to Montana this summer and cycle along the most scenic disused railroad in the country. The railroad turned bike trail turns into 24 kilometers of leisure biking that takes you over seven trestles (栈桥) and through 10 tunnels, with the longest one, the Taft Tunnel, stretching for 2.7 kilometers.‎ 语篇解读:本文介绍了几个最佳的骑行路线。‎ ‎1.In which tour can you enjoy the seaside scenery?‎ A.The Great Ocean Road.‎ B.The Udaipur City Tour.‎ C.The Karakoram Highway.‎ D.The Route of the Hiawatha.‎ 解析:选A 细节理解题。根据The Great Ocean Road, Victoria,‎ ‎ Australia部分第一句中的“coast”和最后一句中的“There you'll cycle through rural farmland, enjoy the sweeping ocean views from cliff tops, and snake past the wetlands around Lake Connewarre.”,并结合题干可知,在骑行中可以享受到海边风景的是澳大利亚的这条骑行路线。‎ ‎2.What can you do on the Udaipur City Tour?‎ A.Go to Venice.‎ B.Feed wild animals.‎ C.Visit cultural relics.‎ D.Enjoy modern architectures.‎ 解析:选C 推理判断题。根据The Udaipur City Tour, Rajasthan, India部分最后一句“But surrounded by ancient castles and grand palaces, Udaipur brings about one of the best biking experiences, allowing cyclists to truly discover rural India.” ‎ ‎3.What's special about the Karakoram Highway?‎ A.It is a totally undeveloped route.‎ B.It goes along an abandoned railway.‎ C.It owns the longest tunnel in the world.‎ D.It lies higher than other international roads.‎ 解析:选D 细节理解题。根据The Karakoram Highway, ChinaPakistan部分第一句中的“The Karakoram Highway is the highest ‎ international road in the world”可推知,the Karakoram Highway比世界上的其他国际道路要高。‎ B ‎(2019·潍坊高考模拟)In 2009, Dan Black was hit by a car in his hometown of Chepstow, Wales, as he was biking to his job at a grocery store. The accident left him unable to move from the chest down. During his recovery, he suffered a stroke that made his right arm useless. Once a promising guitarist, Dan, now 25, lives with his parents and requires aroundtheclock care that costs nearly $300,000 a year. After the accident, a friend of him started the Help Dan Black Fund (基金) to cover some of Dan's medical expenses. Dan learned about an experimental stem cell (干细胞) treatment in China that could enable him to walk again. After four years, donations to help Dan Black totaled nearly $30,000.‎ One day, in 2013, a news story caught the eye of Dan's mother, Michacla, who then shared the story with her son. The story featured a fiveyearold boy named Brecon Vaughan. He had a rare form of disease and never walked by himself. The boy's family had created a website with which to raise nearly $100,000 needed for a trip to the St. Louis Children's Hospital, where treatment was offered that could help Brecon walk. Only half the amount had been raised, said the report.‎ Dan deliberated. Then, after considering that his own dream of walking could be years away, he donated his $30,000 to Brecon's cause. ‎ ‎“I know how it feels to walk. Brecon doesn't. He needs it much more than I do.” Dan told a newspaper.‎ Dan's generosity received a great deal of attention, and contributions started pouring in to the Vaughan website. The family soon exceeded their fundraising goal. They've promised to give the extra funds, about $17,000, to the Tree of Hope charity, which helps sick children in the United Kingdom find specialized medical help. In October, Brecon and his family traveled to St. Louis to begin treatment. “What Dan did is great.” ‎ ‎4.What do we know about Dan Black?‎ A.He promised to be a guitarist.‎ B.He lost his right arm in an accident.‎ C.He created a website to collect money.‎ D.He donated his money from his need.‎ 解析:选D 细节理解题。根据文章第三段中的“Then, after considering that his own dream of walking could be years away, he donated his $30,000 to Brecon's cause.”‎ 可知,他把自己治疗需要的钱捐了出去。故选D项。‎ ‎5.What does the underlined word “exceeded” in the last paragraph mean?‎ A.Went beyond. The entire Hummingbirds class, which is made up of 9and 10yearold pupils, has been busy writing poems and creating online video adverts to warn adults about the serious situation of our oceans and wildlife.‎ Mr Timms thinks children have an important role to play in teaching us how to take care of the things around us. “We sometimes overlook how much we can really learn from children,” he says. “It has been ‎ really hard to believe having parents come in saying that their children have been asking them to stop using plastic, and to recycle more, and even stopping them using plastic straws.”‎ Mr Timms is proud of his Hummingbirds class. “The message that they would like to send to the world is simple: stopping this isn't someone else's job, and it won't be OK if we just leave it.”‎ 语篇解读:本文是一篇说明文,主要介绍了“蜂鸟班”积极响应一个环保教育项目。 ‎ ‎8.What can we infer about adults according to Isobel Kelleher?‎ A.They just pretend to be busy.‎ B.They haven't done their part well.‎ C.They can do nothing to stop pollution.‎ D.They have started to care about the ocean.‎ 解析:选B 推理判断题。根据第二段的内容,尤其是第一句“Nineyearold Isobel Kelleher from the school's Hummingbirds class thinks adults need to take note.” ‎ ‎9.What is the purpose of the school project?‎ A.To help adults to learn more about their kids.‎ B.To remind adults to be friendly to the environment.‎ C.To persuade students to stop using plastic bags.‎ D.To teach students how to write poems creatively.‎ 解析:选B 细节理解题。根据第三段尾句“The entire Hummingbirds class ... our oceans and wildlife.” ‎ ‎10.Why does Mr Timms mention parents in paragraph 4?‎ A.To prove kids are creative in teaching.‎ B.To attract people to support his work.‎ C.To have adults care about education.‎ D.To show the effects of the project.‎ 解析:选D 推理判断题。根据第四段尾句“It has been really hard to believe ... even stopping them using plastic straws.” ‎ ‎11.What is the text mainly about?‎ A.An inspiring school project.‎ B.An appeal to stop plastic bags.‎ C.Serious situations of our planet.‎ D.Adults' ignorance of the environment.‎ 解析:选A 主旨大意题。通读全文可知,第三段第一句“Mr Timms, Isobel's teacher, has been spearheading a new project at the school which lets children loose creatively to raise awareness of the need to be more environmentally friendly.” ‎ D ‎(2019·绵阳市第一次诊断)We are what we eat. That is an old expression, but one worth knowing. A recent look at diets around the world shows that people who eat healthy food — and not too much of it — live ‎ longer. But which areas of the world have the best diets? Researchers found that foods in some of the healthiest diets — Mediterranean diet, New Nordic diet, Japanese diet and French diet — may be very different, but they are all heavy on local and seasonal foods, which include more vegetables and seafood and less red meat.‎ Mediterranean diet contains lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and olive oil. The diet has proper amounts of fish and poultry (家禽肉). Red meat and foods high in sugar and salt are not big parts of this diet.‎ New Nordic diet has whole grains like oats and rye, vegetables such ‎ as carrots, broccoli and eggs, seafood, fruits, oil, lowfat milk and cheese. Sugary desserts are not common in this diet.‎ Japanese people are some of the longest living people on the planet, with women up to 87 years old and men up to 80. The Japanese diet is the reason for such lengths of life. The diet has many foods that are low in calories and high in nutrients. Japanese people eat a lot of seaweed, tofu, rice, vegetables and fish. The tradition there is to stop eating when your stomach feels 80 percent full.‎ However, French people eat fatty foods but do not get fat. And they live a long time. This phenomenon is called the “French Paradox”. The reason why the French eat fatty foods without getting fat may be simple. They eat less. Serving sizes in French restaurants and of products sold in stores are smaller than those in most countries. And generally speaking, most French people do not snack. This means they do not eat food between meals.‎ 语篇解读:本文介绍了世界上四种最健康的饮食。‎ ‎12.What do we know about the healthiest diets around the world?‎ A.They contain abundant calories.‎ B.They tend to be expensive.‎ C.They share certain similarities.‎ D.They reflect popular tastes.‎ 解析:选C 推理判断题。根据第一段中的“may be very ‎ different, but they are all heavy on local and seasonal foods, which include more vegetables and seafood and less red meat”可知,尽管有不同之处,但世界上最健康的饮食都使用很多当地的和时令的食物,包括更多的蔬菜和海鲜,更少的红肉。 ‎ ‎13.What is considered as a harmful eating habit in Japanese tradition?‎ A.Going low in calories. B.Eating to the fullest.‎ C.Having much seafood. 根据第四段中的“The tradition there is to stop eating when your stomach feels 80 percent full.” ‎ ‎14.How does the author develop the central idea in the last 4 paragraphs?‎ A.By building connections.‎ B.By exploring reasons.‎ C.By listing examples.‎ D.By analyzing figures.‎ 解析:选C 写作手法题。 ‎ ‎15.Which can be the most suitable title for the text?‎ A.What is the healthiest diet on earth?‎ B.How does the old expression serve?‎ C.Why is a healthy diet so important?‎ D.Where can we feed ourselves well?‎ 解析:选A 标题归纳题。 ‎ ‎(2019·长沙四校一模)‎ A New Trend of Micro Museums Is Making Science Portable Science museums are amazing. You can see large dinosaur bones from the huge creatures that disappeared thousands of years ago or take a look at cells under a microscope. __16__.‎ You can learn so much at a science museum if living close enough to one. However, for those who don't live in a city, getting a chance to visit science museums is not easy.“ __17__, their influence is limited. There just aren't enough science museums,” said Charles Philipp. “And due to the high costs, it's unlikely that we'll be seeing a bunch of new traditional science museums popping up all over the country anytime soon.”‎ Philipp and his partner Amanda Schochet have decided to reinvent science museums by getting them small. They founded MICRO, a nonprofit organization that builds tiny 6foottall science museums, which are portable and replicable __18__. They can get access to it for free in such places as waiting rooms of hospitals, libraries, airports, and even shopping malls.‎ ‎__19__, they made it with the help of a team of engineers, storytellers, and designers. Each of the micro museums has a scientific topic. The first museum is the Smallest Mollusk (软体动物) Museum showing the world of mollusks, which has won great popularity as the only museum devoted just to mollusks. A second museum is the Perpetual Motion Museum that focuses on physics and engineering and will officially open next year. It asks why things move, and why they stop. __20__. Hopefully one will come to a neighborhood near you soon.‎ A.Science museums are beneficial B.While the content is vitally important C.Although it costs nothing to visit museums D.The plan is to get people of all ages connected with science E.Even though making the tiny museums a reality was difficult F.Such new museums allow people to explore fun scientific topics G.You can also learn to think like an engineer by building a model ship ‎ ‎16.选G 根据前一句“You can see large dinosaur bones from ... under a microscope.”和下文中的“You can learn so much at a science museum ...one.” There just aren't enough science museums”可知,空处与后半句有转折关系,故B项合适,此处意为“尽管科学博物馆的内容非常重要,但是它们产生的影响有限”。‎ ‎18. ‎ ‎19.选E 根据上文对微型科学博物馆的描述及下文“they made it with the help of a team of engineers, storytellers, and designers.” ‎
