It is also a field of study that tries to make computers “smart”. John McCarthy, a scientist, came up with the name “artificial intelligence” over 60 years ago. Many things such as learning and problem solving can be done by computers, though not in the same way as people do. An unusual goal of AI research is to create special computer programs. They can learn, solve problems and think logically(逻辑地). At present, AI can successfully understand human speech, recognize(识别) human faces, operate self-driving cars and compete in some game systems like playing chess. However, some people consider AI a danger to humans if it develops too quickly. A famous British scientist also was not for this kind of technology. Math is the basic language of AI. If students are good at math, they will be more likely to become successful AI designers in the future. We need not only bright students but also average(普 通的) students. As for average students, if they get enough math skills, they can also become successful AI designers. Besides, a good knowledge of computer science is also necessary for AI designing. Scientists hope to create creative and emotional(有情感的) AI. The AI can possibly understand human feelings or create art. Only use this if you think the person you are speaking to is getting upset over something important. When your friends tell you that their close relative has died, it is NOT the time to tell them to pull themselves together. 3.I'm feeling under the weather (Meaning: I'm sick) Yes, it's longer and more difficult to say than “I'm sick”, but if your English teacher asks you why you haven't done your homework, he or she is more likely to forgive(原谅) you if you say that you were feeling under the weather. 4.Break a leg (Meaning: good luck) This is perhaps one of the most confusing yet well-known English idioms. If someone says this to you, do not think they are frightening you; they are just wishing you luck. It is most often used by people wishing actors and actresses success before they perform on the stage, but it can be said in other situations, too. All in all, learning a new language can be challenging. It's certainly not a piece of cake, especially when there are so many confusing idioms. However, with enough hard work and interest, you will succeed in no time.
