Shakespeare called them suspicious. If someone was silly and perhaps looked like a fool, Shakespeare found their actions laughable. And for those who offered their opinions on something’s quality, Shakespeare called them critics (评论家). Today, for instance, food critics and film critics give their opinions on food and film.‎ The familiar phrase “break the ice” comes from Shakespeare’s play The Taming of the Shrew. The “ice is broken” when people in a group, who have never met before, begin to talk to each other by doing some activities. Shakespeare’s Great Life C When dogs get lonely, they like keeping themselves busy by making a big mess around the house, and that is really unacceptable to their owners. That's why one German radio host, who also happens to be a dog owner came up with the idea for a program designed to relax dogs and make them feel like they aren’t alone. When 30-year-old Stephan Stock, a radio host at Radio Ton, in Germany's Baden- Wurttemberg region, announced the creation of a program aimed at dogs, everyone thought it was just a clever April Fools trick. However, it wasn’t. For the past three and a half months, Hallo Hasso has been pumping out music for lonely dogs both on the radio and online. Stock says he was inspired to create the special program by his pet dog, Layla, who would sometimes get so bored when left alone that she would keep herself busy by making a big mess around the house. He and his colleagues at Radio Ton started researching what kind of music usually appeals to dogs, and learned that it should have as little drum and electric guitar as possible, and should be very slow. "It's not about keeping dogs quiet," Stock said about Hallo Hasso. "It's more about the dog feeling he's not alone. "He adds that Layla isn’t as restless since listening to Hallo Hasso, and has become relatively quiet, even letting him take a nap (打盹儿)to the music from the radio. Hallo Hasso is only available in Baden-Wurttemberg, via radio, but if you'd like to see if it can calm your four-legged pet, the program can also be accessed online here.Just press the "play" arrow at the top of the page and let the music work its magic. If this doesn’t work, there's always Dog TV.‎ 28. When dogs get lonely, they usually ______ .‎ A. sit quietly B. lie lonely C. bite the things around D. make the house untidy ‎29. When that speech reached her home country, two entirely different versions appeared, and the false one became a viral (病毒的) hit.‎ Guess which version is genuine? The one that matter-of-factly tells about the discovery of Artemisinin (青蒿素), or the one with extreme literary style, completed with her father explaining the origin of her given name and poetic lines such as,“I like tranquility(宁静), tranquil as the leaves of sweet wormwood(青蒿); I avoid the spotlight, just as the petals of sweet ‎ wormwood do ; I aspire to be upright, as are the stems of sweet wormwood”.‎ Most readers were so touched by the literary version that they were left in tears. However, they just forgot that Tu is not a woman of letters, but one of science. It was totally made up by someone who obviously has great literary talent, but could not understand the inner life of a scientist.‎ I don’t know who made up the Tu speech, or for what purpose. It does not strike me as funny. Fortunately, no mainstream media seemed to have been fooled. Yet the false one has probably been shared more than the real one because it played up to the Chinese stereotype (固定形式)of what such a speech should be.‎ China’s cyberspace is full of educational and uplifting quotes, and quite a lot of them are made up. There is a joke that says the United States’ spying network collected and examined all the Internet data in China and found that the Chinese are addicted to such chicken soup, including that from untrustworthy sources.‎ 32. Most readers were touched by the false speech probably because of______.‎ A. Tu’s real life B. its writing style C. their understanding of science D. their passions for literature ‎33. About the literary version, which of the following is true?‎ A. It reflected Tu’s inner life. B.Its purpose was to get click rate.‎ C.It failed to attract the leading media. D.It’s about the discovery of artemisinin.‎ ‎34. What attitude does the writer seem to hold to the false speech?‎ A. Negative. B. Positive. C. Objective. D. Uncertain.‎ ‎35. What’s the purpose of this article?‎ A. To prove that false news attracts more readers. ‎ B.To tell readers that the false speech is more literary.‎ C. To inform us that there is much false news on the Internet.‎ D.To warn readers that all Internet news are very untrustworthy.‎ 第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)‎ ‎ 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。‎ US City Bans Texting while Walking Parents usually teach their children how to cross the street safely, by looking both ways for cars. But do they also teach them to put away their cell phones?‎ The city of Honolulu, Hawaii wants everyone to learn that lesson. 36 Beginning on October 24, you could be fined from $15 to $99 if you step into a Honolulu street while looking at your phone. Honolulu is the first major U. S. city to ban what is called "distracted (分散注意) walking. " It recently passed a law in a seven to two vote. The law says; “No pedestrian (步行者) shall cross a street or highway while viewing a mobile electronic device. " 37 ‎ The law's creators hope it will lower the number of people hit and killed by cars in the city.‎ ‎ Mayor Kirk Caldwell told Reuters news agency, "We hold the unfortunate distinction (区别) of being a major city with more pedestrians being hit in crosswalks, particularly our elders, than almost any other city in the country. "‎ The law includes all electronic devices with screens: cell phones, tables, gaming devices, digital cameras and laptop computers. 38 Pedestrians may use such devices in the street to call emergency services and rescue workers, such as firefighters and police officers.‎ ‎ 39 The Governors Highway Safety Association, or GHSA, says pedestrian deaths in the United States increase 25% between 2010 and 2015. That trend continued in 2016 with the number of pedestrian deaths rising to almost 6000, 11% higher than in 2015.‎ If you still want to text while walking, you could avoid being fined in Honolulu (and be safer, in general) by using a voice-controlled digital(数字的) assistant such as Siri or Google Assistant. 40 ‎ A. The law does permit an exception.‎ B. Or you could just wait until you are again, safely, off the street.‎ C. You will be sentenced to prison while using cell phones in the street.‎ D. Pedestrian deaths have been increasing as the use of cell phones rises.‎ E. Texting while crossing the street will soon be banned in the city.‎ F. The law permits people to watch TV while crossing the street.‎ G. In other words, do not look at a screen when you cross the street or you could be fined.‎ 第II卷 第三部分 语言知识运用(共两节, 满分45分)‎ 第一节 完形填空(共20小题;每小题1.5分, 满分30分)‎ 阅读下面的短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。‎ A complaint (投诉) was received by the Pontiac Department of General Motors.
