It is important to remember that the body needs proper care in order to be healthy. There are three things that a person can do to help stay in good shape: eat right food, get enough sleep, and exercise regularly. Proper nutrition is important for good health. Your body cannot work well unless it receives the proper kind of “fuel”. Don`t eat too much food with lots of sugar and fat. Eat plenty of foods high in protein, like meat, fish, eggs and nuts. Vegetables and fruits are very important because they provide necessary vitamins and minerals. However, don`t overeat. It is not helpful to be overweight. Getting the proper amount of sleep is also important. If you don`t get enough sleep, you feel tired and easily get angry. You have no energy. Over a long period of time a little amount of sleep may even result in a change of personality. Be sure to allow yourself from seven to nine hours of sleep each night. If you do, your body will feel strong and refreshed, and your mind will be sharp. Finally, get plenty of exercise. Exercise firms the body, strengthens the muscles, and prevents you from gaining weight. It also improves your heart and lungs. If you follow a regular exercise program, you will probably increase your life-span Any kind of exercise is good. Most sports are excellent for keeping the body in good shape: basketball, swimming, bicycling, running and so on are good examples. Sports are not only good for your body, but they are enjoyable and interesting, too. If everybody were to eat the right foods, get plenty of sleep and exercise regularly, the world would be a happier and healthier place. We would all live to be much older and wiser. 24.According to the passage, _________. A. we should always keep fit B. one needn 't take any exercise if he is healthy C. one can eat a lot to stay in good shape D.if we were healthy, we could spend our days in doing things with less sleep 25. In order to keep good health, _________. A. we should eat a lot of sweets B. one needs a large amount of fat C. we must try to sleep now and then D. people should eat according to the foods nutrition 26.Which of the following is NOT true according to the passage?_______ A. Eating too much sugar and fat is not good for our health. B. We have no energy if we don`t have enough sleep. C. If we sleep five hours each night, we will feel strong. D. Exercise is good for our body. 27.The title of the article should be _________. A. Eating and Exercising B. Staying Healthy C. Sleeping Well D. How Vitamins Work in Man`s Body C What would you like to be when you grow up? A teacher? A doctor? An astronaut? What do you need to do to achieve your dream job? Perhaps you think that studying well and then going on to work hard will get you successful career you want. We are constantly taught that our hard work will eventually pay off. But a government survey has shown that hard work is not the only thing that will help you to move up the ladder. Two thirds of people believe that who you know matters more than what you know when it comes to social activity. So are the connections that you have more important than your education? 76% of the people in the survey believed that family background is important in influencing your chances of success. They believe that if you are privileged from birth, you are more likely to have a successful career, especially if your family is wealthy. Even if you don’t have a privileged background, the people you know can still make a difference to your career. Networking is a skill which is encouraged by many career advisers. Some companies run networking workshops to try and encourage staff to meet other people, to communicate and build relationships. It’s a valuable skill. But the survey also showed something quite interesting. Although most people believed that networks are more important than education, many people put their own career success down to talent, rather than background. 41% of the people said that their parents’ income had influenced their life, but at the same time, another 41% believed that they had achieved their own success. So which is more important, what you know or who you know? It seems that by working hard and making lots of connections, the answer may be that both are very important. 28.Which of the following is closest in meaning to the underlined part? A. Practice makes perfect B. Nothing is impossible C. Hope for the best D. No pains, no gains 29.Which of the following is NOT true according to the passage? A. 76% of the people think social relationship is most important. B. 41% of the people believe parents’ income is most important. C. 76% of the people think family background ranks first. D. 41% of the people believe they gained their own success. 30.From the passage we can infer that the writer writes the article to _____. A. stress the importance of education B. challenge the traditional belief C. make lots of social connections D. encourage people to work hard 31.Which of the following is the best title for the passage? A. The Way to Success B. Keep Your Dream in Mind C. A Wealthy and Smooth Career D. A Survey on People’s Dreams D Long before iPhone, the cigarette was the companion of choice for restlessness. And long before Facebook and WeChat, it was tobacco that promised to better your social life. Now, quitting smartphones has become the new quitting smoking. Of course, technology does not yellow your teeth, cause disease or lead to cancer. But some individuals are so concerned that device addiction is damaging their mental health. In order to reduce their dependence, even in Silicon Valley, people are turning off the messages that constantly buzz for their attention, banning smartphones from the bedroom and, curiously, changing the colors on their screens to a less tempting scale of gray. The big tech companies will have to work out how to respond to this new generation of quitters. Facebook is the first to go public with its attempt, hoping its recent move can make the social network more homely. Last year the tech industry got a bad name ---Big Tech---with unfortunate echoes of other industries that have faced fierce opposition, including Big Tobacco. Like them, the tech industry has to reduce concern from a new generation of activist shareholders (股东) that are questioning its role in the world. These campaigns are never as fierce as those faced by Big Tobacco. In the 1990s, socially responsible investors refused to put money in tobacco stocks. It is far difficult for investors to challenge Big Tech and hard to separate the good these companies do in the world-connecting old friends and giving space for people to share their ideas-from the bad. In the meantime, stopping using technology remains problematic. In The World Without Mind: The Existential Threat of Big Tech, Franklin Foer argues that tech should be seen in a similar way to junk food: a convenience that some reject for more continuing nutrition. So we need to do more to turn the tide. In the same way that public service announcements made smoking around your children taboo (禁忌), we can warn parents against losing themselves in their smartphones while taking care of kids. We can also create no-smartphone zones at dinner. Eventually smartphones could be banned from all public places and help us give our attention to the people around us instead. 32 .How did people keep close relationships with others in the past? ______ A. By smoking. B. By drinking. C. By phoning D. By dining out. 33.Why is the tech industry called Big Tech? ______ A. It plays a bad role in the world. B. It is as big as Big Tobacco. C. It has an unfortunate name. D. It is a giant in Silicon Valley. 34. What can we infer from Franklin Foer's argument about the tech? ______ A. It promotes social development. B. It is still favored by some people. C. It is worse than Big Tobacco. D. It offers continuing nutrition. 35.Which can be the best title for the passage? ______ A. Creating a No Smartphone Life B. Smartphones Enrich Our Social Life C. Smoking Does Greater Harm Than Smartphones Do D. Quitting Smartphones Is the New Quitting Smoking 三、阅读七选五(本大题共5小题,10分) A good night’s sleep is one of the best things for your health. The following steps might help you enjoy a good sleep. I am here to tell you that it is important for us to keep fit. Since we spend most of our time learning lessons, we donˈt have much time for exercise. Some even think it is a waste of time taking exercise. Besides, some students like to eat fast food that is high in fat and calories, which is harmful to our health. That is why some of us are overweight or fall ill easily. Here is some advice on how to keep fit. The best way to stay healthy is to have a balanced diet. Doing exercise on a regular basis is also beneficial to our overall health. An active lifestyle helps us feel energetic and less stressful. Last but not least, since lack of sleep makes us look tired, we should make sure that we get sufficient sleep. Nothing is more important than good health. Thatˈs all. Thank you. Yours, Li Hua查看更多
