Although students may be in a subordinate(从属的) position, some professors treat them as equals. However, no matter how equal professors would like to be, they ‎ still are in a position of authority.‎ Professors may establish social relationships with students outside of the classroom, but in the classroom they maintain the instructor’s role. A professor may have coffee one day with students but the next day expect them to meet a deadline for the submission(提交评判) of a paper or to be prepared for a discussion or an exam. The professor may give extra attention outside of class to a student in need of help but probably will not treat him or her differently when it comes to evaluating school work. Professors have several roles in relation to students; they may be friends as well as teachers. Students must realize that when a teacher’s role changes, they must appropriately adapt their behaviour and attitudes.‎ ‎24. Which is the best title of the passage?‎ A. the changing relationship B. the teacher-student relationship ‎ C. professors’ authority in class D. students’ positions at school C High-tech machines have made life easier for millions around the world. However, some people still prefer low-tech ways of doing things. Here's an example of why this is happening. You can microwave a frozen hamburger in 60 seconds. However, it won't taste as good as one you cook on the stove. And if you're in that much of a hurry, you probably won't take time to toast the bun. High-tech cooking saves time, but it doesn't make for better tasting meals.     Most people get their news from high-tech sources like television or the Internet. This has many advantages. For example, electronic news is more up to date than newspapers or magazines. It's also more exciting to see live and videotaped news events than photographs. However, newspapers and magazines have some important advantages. They give more background and details. They also let you read the parts that are important to you and skip the rest.     Other high-tech timesavers have similar disadvantages. For example, most people use the phone or email to stay in touch with friends and family members who live in other places. But when you use the Internet or the phone, you don't always think carefully about what you are saying, and sometimes you forget the important things you want to communicate. Similarly, when you word process a homework assignment instead of handwriting it, you can check your spelling electronically and put in fancy headings. However, some students are so busy with the computer that they don't pay enough attention to the actual words they are writing.‎ ‎28. How does the writer feel about high-tech tools? ‎ A. Better late than never. B. Easy come, easy go.‎ C. Every coin has two sides. D. Learn to walk before you run. ‎ ‎29. Which of the following statements is TRUE according to the passage? ‎ A. The writer likes high-tech cooking.‎ B. Handwritten homework is better than word-processed homework. ‎ C. High-tech news programs always keep you reading what is important to you.‎ D. Low-tech cooking produces better-tasting meals. ‎ ‎30. What is the main subject discussed in the text? ‎ A. High-tech vs. low-tech.‎ B. Advantages vs. disadvantages.‎ C. Newspapers and magazines vs. television and the Internet.‎ D. Word-processing vs. handwriting. ‎ ‎31. How is the text organized? ‎ A. Main idea - Argument - Explanation.‎ B. Opinion - Discussion - Description.‎ C. Topic - Comparison - Supporting examples.‎ D. Introduction - Supporting examples - Discussion.‎ D Your four-legged friends may soon have their own channel. Dog TV, cable(有线) TV’s first channel for dogs, is mostly about keeping lonely dogs calm.‎ There are about 78 million canines(犬) in the United States. Dog TV is aimed at the many of these that are left alone for long periods. Dogs are social animals and often grow anxious when left on their own. They may bark, chew shoes, and generally get into trouble. Dog TV, which was launched last February, is designed to help ease their boredom and anxiety.‎ Creators of the cable service approached their task scientifically. The sounds, colors, and camera angles have all been adjusted for canine senses. For instance, colors are made more vivid so that dogs can see objects clearly. Dog TV does not, as you might think, show Scooby-Doo and Clifford the Big Red Dog. Rather, there are three types of Dog TV “shows.” The first aims to relax dogs. These segments show dogs resting to the sound of calming music. The second kind shows pleasant (for a dog) day-to-day settings, like riding in a car or walking down a street. The third type is meant to stimulate ---like a scene of two dogs playing in a field. “Dogs love watching other dogs being active on the screen,” says Beke Lubeach, a Dog TV spokesperson. She says that birds, monkeys, and zebras also make dogs take notice.‎ Not everyone is buying it. “I think a lot of this is to make us feel better as opposed to making the pet happier,” says Dr. Ann. E. Hohenhaus of  New York’s Animal Medical Center. She tells The New York Times, “Your pet needs adequate exercise and an interesting environment.” You cannot just turn on the TV and hope your dog is going to get better.‎ On the other hand, the Humane Society animal shelter in Escondido, California, tried out Dog TV at its shelter. Sally Costello, the director, says workers observed that dogs exposed to the channel were calmer and barked less. ‎ Dog TV has been seen only in Southern California so far. But it is scheduled to go national soon. Owners of the commercial-free channel hope to charge about $5 a month for their service.‎ ‎32.What is the purpose of Dog TV?‎ A. To provide tips for dog masters B. To keep dogs calm and fun C. To make children happy D. To make money.‎ ‎33..The following programs are often broadcast on Dog TV EXCEPT________.‎ A.
