2019届二轮语法复习专题九并列句和状语从句 高考对于连词的考查主要表现在对并列连词和从属连词的用法和辨析上。对并列连词的考查主要是在并列句中,要求考生能正确分析上下句之间的逻辑关系,同时重点掌握某些句型的构成形式。对状语从句的考查主要是通过对引导词的选择来进行的。近几年的高考命题常将并列连词、从属连词、连接代词或连接副词放在同一题干下进行考查,使考试难度增加。因此只有了解状语从句的分类及状语从句常用连接词的基本含义和用法,并在具体语境中判断主从句之间的逻辑关系,才能够准确答题。 并 列 连 词 并列连词主要用来表示并列关系、转折关系、选择关系、因果关系等,可用来连接平行的词、短语或分句。常见的并列连词有: 1.表示转折关系:but,yet,while,whereas等。 2.表示因果关系:so,for等。 3.表示选择关系:or,or else,either...or等。 4.表示并列关系:and,both...and,not only...but also,neither...nor等。 如:Be careful,or you will hurt yourself. 小心点,否则你会伤到自己。 It must have rained last night,for it is wet all over. 昨晚一定下雨了,因为到处都这么湿。 [即学即练] 单句语法填空 1.My younger sister is fond of pop 解析:and 句意:是她要一个新宝宝的时候了,也是小熊猫该独立的时候了。根据句意可知两个句子为并列关系,故用and。 状 语 从 句 一.时间状语从句 引导时间状语从句的连词有when,as,while,after,before,since,once,until,till,as soon as,every time/each time,the moment,the minute,immediately,directly,instantly等 1.在since引导的状语从句中,动词可以是延续性的也可以是非延续性的,都表示状态或动作的结束,但意义有所区别。试比较: It’s three years since he joined the League. 自从他入团以来已经3年了。(join是非延续性动词) It is three years since he smoked. 他不吸烟已有3年了。(smoke是延续性动词) 2.某些表示时间的副词、名词短语等可作连词用,引导时间状语从句,如directly,immediately,the instant,the moment,the minute,the day,the year,each/every time,next time,the first(second,last) time等。 I left immediately the clock struck. 钟声一敲响我就离开了。 3.表示动作先后发生。常用的有before,after,by the time 等。如: After you think it over,please let me know what you decide to do. 你仔细考虑后,请告诉我你决定做什么。 有关before的句式 ……之后才…… It was long before...did...很久才…… It wasn’t long before...did...不久就…… It was a week before he could tell his story. 一星期之后他才讲述他的经历。 It was a long time before he got to sleep again. 他很久才再次入睡。 [即学即练] 单句语法填空 3.________ she could explain to the boy,he had gone out angrily. 解析:Before before 表示“还没来得及……就……”,其后通常跟情态动词can/ could。句意:她还没来得及向这个男孩解释,他就很生气地跑出去了。 4.My friends walked me to the bus stop and waited with me ________ the bus arrived. 解析:till/until 句意:我的朋友陪我走到公交车站并和我一起等,直到公交车到来。till/until表示“直到……”,用于肯定句时要求主句的谓语动词是延续性动词。 5.He has been in hospital ________ he had his right leg broken last month. 解析:since 根据主、从句前后时态不一致可知,此处要用连接词since。句意:自从上个月他的右腿断了以后,他就一直住在医院里。 二.地点状语从句 1.where和wherever皆可引导地点状语从句,where指某一固定地方,而wherever指任何一个地方。试比较: I’ll go where he went. 我要去他去过的地方。(特定地点) I’ll go wherever he goes. 他去哪儿我就去哪儿。(任意地点) 2.where引导的定语从句和状语从句的区别。 引导定语从句时,where是关系副词,在从句中作地点状语,其前有表示地点的名词作先行词,定语从句修饰先行词;引导状语从句时,where是从属连词,where引导的从句修饰主句的谓语动词,其前没有表示地点的名词。 He’s got himself into a dangerous situation where he is likely to lose control over the plane.他使自己陷入了一种危险的情况,他很可能会失去对飞机的控制。(定语从句) Put the medicine where children can’t reach it. 把药放在孩子们够不到的地方。(状语从句) Make a mark where you have any questions. worked”,故用where引导地点状语从句。 7.(2015·安徽卷)________ he once felt like giving up,he now has the determination to push further and keep on going. 解析:Where 句意:他曾经想要放弃的地方,他现在有决心进一步推进并且坚持下去了。根据句意可知用Where。 三.原因状语从句 引导原因状语从句的连词有because,as,since,now that,in that(由于,因为;在这一点上)等。because,since,as,for和now that的用法比较: 引导词 用法 例句 because 表示直接的原因或理由,语气最强,常表示必然的因果关系。回答以why引起的特殊疑问句,只能用because。 He is absent today because he is ill. 他今天缺课,因为他病了。 since 表示对方已经知晓、无须加以说明的原因或事实,语气比because稍弱。 I’ll do it for you since you are busy.既然你忙,我来替你做吧。 as 表示的往往是十分明显的原因,听者或读者已经知道或读者已经知道或能看得出来,语气较弱,比较口语化。 As you object,I’ll change the plan.由于你反对,我将改变计划。 for 是并列连词,它连接的分句不表示直接的原因,而是用来附带解释说明前面一句的情况。for引导的分句常位于第一分句之后,它们之间用逗号隔开。 It must have rained last night,for the ground is wet this morning.昨晚准是下雨了,今天早上地面还是湿的。 now that 意为“既然”,与since同义,但更突出事实本身。 Now that I am well again,I can go on with my work.我既然恢复了健康,那就可以继续工作了。 [即学即练] 单句语法填空/单句改错 8.________ Monday is Bob’s birthday,let’s give him a party. 解析:Since/As/Because 两个分句之间为因果关系,故用because。句意:我已决定要努力学习,因为勤奋是成功的关键。 四.条件状语从句 引导条件状语从句的连词有if,unless,so/as long as,in case(如果),on condition that,suppose/supposing(that),providing/provided that等。 I’ll go with you to the truth on ________ that you promise to keep it a secret. 解析:condition 句意:我可以告诉你真相,条件是你答应保守秘密。on condition that“条件是”,其引导的条件状语从句是主句所讲述的事情发生的前提条件或唯一条件。 13.We’ll go shopping this Sunday ________ it snows or it’s freezing cold. 解析:unless 句意:除非这个周日下雪或很冷,要不然我们将要去购物。两个分句之间为条件关系,再结合句意可知此处表示“除非”,故用unless。 五.目的状语从句 1.由so that,in order that,for fear that,in case,lest等引导从句,谓语常含may,might,can,could,will,would等情态动词。 I’ll write the name down for fear that he would forget. 我会把名字写下来,以免他忘记了。 He left early in case he should miss it. 他走得很早以免错过了它。 2.当从句主语与主句主语一致时,可用“so as to/in order to+动词原形”替换。 He worked day and night in order that he could succeed.(=He worked day and night in order to succeed.)为了成功,他夜以继日地工作。 [即学即练] 单句语法填空/单句改错 14.The police officers in our city work hard ________ the rest of us can live a safe life. 解析:so that/in order that 分析句子结构可知,空处引导状语从句,表目的,故填so that/in order that。 15.Whenever we go for a walk,we will take some money with us so that we come across something that we like. 解析:so that→in case in case “以防,以免”,表示目的。so that 意为“以便;为了”。 六.结果状语从句 1.so that 表示结果和目的时的区别: so that表示目的时,从句中往往有can,could,may,might 等情态动词,而表示结果时没有;so that引导结果状语从句可用逗号与主句分开,引导目的状语从句则不可。 They set out early so that they arrived in time. 他们出发得很早,所以及时到达了。(结果) They set out early so that they might arrive in time. 他们出发得早以便能及时到达。(目的) 2.so...that与such...that的区别: so为副词,修饰形容词、副词,不能修饰名词;such是形容词,用来修饰名词。两者常用的结构如下: Mike is so honest a worker that we all believe him. (=Mike is such an honest worker that we all believe him.) 迈克是一个如此诚实的工人,我们都相信他。 He earned so little money that he couldn’t support his family.他挣钱这么少,不能养活他的家庭。 It is such fine weather that we all want to go to the park. 天气这么好,我们都想去公园。 [即学即练] 单句语法填空 16.In fact,you will find the experience so enjoyable ________ you will volunteer to make more speeches! 解析:that 由语境判断此处为表示结果的状语从句,表示“如此……以至于……”,故用so...that...结构。 17.These were ________ difficult questions that none of us could answer. 解析:such 句意:这些问题如此难,以至于我们没人能回答。由于后面的“difficult questions”是一个名词短语,所以要用such...that...结构。 18.To such a degree was he excited ________ he couldn’t sleep last night. 解析:that 分析句子结构可知,此处为such...that...“如此……以至于……”引导的结果状语从句,故填that。 七.让步状语从句 引导让步状语从句的连词有:although,though,even if,even though,as (用于倒装句),whether,no matter what/who/how/where/when(=whatever/whoever/however/wherever/ whenever),while(一般置于句首) 1.though与although大致相同,常可互换使用。though/although 引导让步状语从句时,后面的主句不能用but,但可用yet或still。 Although/Though he works very hard,(yet)he makes very slow progress.尽管他尽了力,但还是进步不快。 Although/Though she is smart,(still)she studies hard. 虽然她很聪明,她还是用功学习。 2.as引导让步状语从句时,从句的表语、状语或谓语中的实义动词需提前至句首,如果表语是带冠词的名词,冠词需要省略。though引导的让步状语从句有时也可这样用,但although不可以。 Pop star as she is,she still needs to improve. 尽管她已经是一个流行歌手,但仍需努力。 Much as I like it,I won’t buy it,for it’s too expensive. 虽然我很喜欢它但我不会买,因为它太贵了。 Try as he might,he could not find a job. 尽管他尝试过了,可是他还是找不到工作。 Tired though he was,he continued working. 他虽然很累,但还是继续工作。 [即学即练] 单句语法填空 19.Wonderful ________ the film was,I thought badly of it for its old style. 解析:as/though 考查as/though引导的让步状语从句的倒装。其结构为:表语/状语/动词原形+as/though+主语+be/情态动词/助动词。句意:尽管这部电影很精彩,但我对它评价不高,因为它的风格陈旧。 20.________ you say,I won’t believe you. 解析:Whatever 句意:无论你说什么,我都不会相信你。whatever引导让步状语从句,no matter what也可以引导让步状语从句,但是由语法填空题的题干要求可知该题答案只能为Whatever。 21.(2016·浙江卷)________ online shopping has changed our life,not all of its effects have been positive. 解析:While/Although/Though 考查状语从句。句意:虽然网购改变了我们的生活,但并不是它的所有影响都是正面的。根据句意可知用While/Although/Though引导让步状语从句。 八.方式状语从句 引导方式状语从句的连词有as,as if/though等。 as if/though引导的方式状语从句一般要求用虚拟语气:从句动词用一般过去时表示现在 (be动词用were,有时也可用was),用过去完成时表示过去。从句陈述的情况实现的可能性很大时,也可用陈述语气。 He spoke as if he had been there before. 他说话就像他以前去过那里似的。 The animal was walking as though it had hurt its leg. 这只动物走路的样子好像伤了腿似的。 [即学即练] 单句语法填空/单句改错 22.(2015·浙江卷)Just ________a single word can change the meaning of a sentence,a single sentence can change the meaning of a paragraph. 解析:as 句意:正如一个词可以改变一个句子的意思一样,一个句子可以改变一个段落的意思。根据句意可知用as。 23.Try to hold the tool if I do. 解析:if→as 此处指“试着像我一样拿工具”,故用as引导方式状语从句。 九.比较状语从句 引导比较状语从句的连词有:as...as,not so/as...as,...than等。 as和than引导的从句,常省去与主句中相同的部分,只留下相比较的部分;常用替代动词do等形式代替与主句相同的谓语部分。 It’s warmer in spring than(it is)in winter. 春天比冬天暖和。 He doesn’t speak English as well as you do. 他英语说得不如你好。 [即学即练] 单句改错 24.-Have your working conditions improved? -No,not better than before,I am afraid. 解析:not→no “no+比较级+than”表示“两者同样不……”,no better than意为“两者都不好”。 25.-What do you think of chemistry? -In my opinion,chemistry is difficult as a subject as physics. 解析:difficult放在第一个as之后 由“as+形容词/副词原级+as”结构可知形容词difficult 应该放在as...as之间。 状语从句是英语语法中的一个重要项目,属于高考考试大纲中所规定的主从复合句之一,并且在三大从句中,相对而言属于较难的从句。一是因为状语从句种类较多,常见的有九种之多,这样就需要考生要认识和掌握众多的能够引导这些状语从句的从属连词;再者,在状语从句中,知识点不仅零散而且扩散性较大,经常和其他知识点之间有许多联系,这就需要考生学会融会贯通,灵活掌握。 状语从句是每年必考的知识,其考查的重点是考生容易混淆的较近似的连词在逻辑行文和具体语境中的使用。纵观近三年高考试题,从中可以看出考纲要求考生应掌握如下几点: 1.全面掌握状语从句的九大类别,其中时间、条件、原因、地点和让步状语从句是重点;
