Even though it is very difficult nowadays to attend a college or university after graduating from high school, there are still a large number of reasons to go to college. In general, college graduates make more money than people who only have a high school degree. Besides higher pay, college graduates also experience better jobs than those who haven't graduated from college. Many employers expect their employees to have a college degree. College programs provide students with peculiar training that only higher education can offer, giving them popular and valuable qualifications. To deal with heavy college study, you have to be organized. Finishing several different classes is not an easy task, considering that each class covers plenty of materials. If you're unable to stay organized, there are teachers, advisers and professors there to help you. The organization skills you'll learn in college will help you succeed in future jobs. Whether you're solving a math-based problem or make out the main idea of a novel, college classes train your brain to solve difficult problems and will prepare you for problems in the workplace. Whether you grew up in a small town or in New York City, being admitted into a college or university means that you will meet a great number of new people. Your social skills will improve by communicating with them, which could help you when you enter into the job market. When you take part in classroom activities, study groups and school clubs, you are introduced to intelligent people with whom you could one day start a company or form a life-long friendship. Study-abroad programs are offered by most colleges and universities and are seen as one of the most meaningful experiences offered during four years of college life. In addition to learning more about a foreign culture, students are required to complete their studies. ‎ ‎25.What can we learn about the college degree? ‎ A. It is more important to rural students than urban students. B. It makes you become employers in different fields. C. It helps increase your earning power. D. It is a must to become rich.‎ ‎26.What is the third paragraph mainly about? ‎ A. The functions of the organization in college. B. The difficult problems and different organizations in college. ‎ C. Heavy college study and work. D. College classes and professors.‎ ‎27.What can be inferred from the text? ‎ A. It is no use going to college or university. B. College helps students improve their human relationship. C. The aim of study-abroad is to help end students' college classes. D. Work experience is less important than a qualification in the job interview.‎ C ‎ After years of heated debate, gray wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park. Fourteen wolves were caught in Canada and transported to the park. By last year, the Yellowstone wolf population had grown to more than 170 wolves.  Gray wolves once were seen here and there in the Yellowstone area and much of the continental United States, but they were gradually displaced by human development. By the 1920s,wolves had practically disappeared from the Yellowstone area. They went farther north into the deep forests of Canada, where there were fewer humans around. The disappearance of the wolves had many unexpected results. Deer and elk populatios-major food sources for the wolf-grew rapidly. These animals consumed large amounts of vegetation (植被), which reduced plant diversity in the park. In the absence of wolves, coyote populations also grew quickly. The coyotes killed a large percentage of the park's red foxes, and completely drove away the park's beavers. As early as 1966, biologists asked the government to consider reintroducing wolves to Yellowstone Park. They hoped that wolves would be able to control the elk and coyote problems. Many farmers opposed the plan because they feared that wolves would kill their farm animals or pets. The government spent nearly 30 years coming up with a plan to reintroduce the wolves. The U.S Fish and Wildlife Service carefully monitors and manages the wolf packs in Yellowstone. Today, the debate continues over how well the gray wolf is fitting in at Yellowstone. Elk, deer, and coyote populations are down, while beavers have made a comeback. The Yellowstone wolf project has been a valuable experiment to help biologists decide whether to reintroduce wolves to other parts of the country as well. ‎ ‎28.What is the text mainly about?‎ A. Uncaring.‎ D ‎ Many developers market apps for children as being educational, so Jenny Radesky wanted to check that out.‎ ‎ “One of my big concerns about why apps might not be educational was because of the presence of distracting(分心) feature such as ads sitting along the top of the screen irrelevant(无关的) to the learning objective,” Dr. Rasdesky said. “And we were expecting to see those.”‎ ‎ In apps marketed for children 5 and under in the Google Play store, there were ads with disturbing images, which no child could reasonably be expected to close out, and dancing treasure would give young players points for watching video ads, potentially endlessly.‎ ‎ Her team of researchers spent hundreds of hours playing 135 different games and concluded many of these examples seemed to break FTC rules around unfair advertising. To accompany the publication of the study, more than a dozen media and children’s health organizations sent FTC a letter asking for an investigation. ‎ ‎ “Apps primarily directed to children must follow specific requirements, including content and ad ‎ restrictions,” the statement said. It added that Google Play “shows whether an app has advertising, so parents can make informed decisions.‎ ‎ While other studies of children and games usually focused on the top rated apps, Dr. Radesky chose to study the ones with the most downloads. Many of those were free apps, and she found those were the ones that low-income people downloaded the most”.‎ ‎“There’s very limited research showing how children learn from interactive media,” she said. “But if you have lots of distracting things, children don’t comprehend the learning material as well.”‎ She hopes the study will lead parents to ask more questions about the games their kids are playing. And she hopes it leads to regulation, though she suspects that will be a harder battle.‎ ‎“ The hardest argument is that children’s rights should be higher than the rights of advertisers or companies who want access to them,” she said. “ Kids make a lot of money---they are demanding, and they are easy to influence.”‎ ‎32. Which of the following is the problem Radesky found about kids’ study apps?‎ A. Many of them were not beneficial to kids’ studies.‎ B. They charged too much for the poor to use.‎ C. They contained lots of ads to distract students.‎ D. They were not popular among top students.‎ ‎33.What did Radesky find about free apps downloaded most?‎ A. They were most popular among people lowly paid.‎ B. They contained the largest number of advertisements C. They generally obeyed the FTC advertising rules.‎ D. They charged a lot when users answered the ads.‎ ‎34. What does Radesky suspect about the battle?‎ A. What children can demand of their parents about the ads.‎ B. Why parents don’t care about the games kids are playing.‎ C. Whether children can have free access to advertisements.‎ D. How children’s rights should be placed before advertisers.‎ ‎35. What can be a suitable title for the text?‎ A. Free Study Apps Benefit Low-income Families.‎ B. Kids’ Study Apps Contain Too Much Advertising.‎ C. Dr. Radesky Studied Top Children’s Study Apps.‎ D.
