Her pose was somehow strange- she knelt (跪) on the ground like a person who was worshiping (祷告);her body was leaning forward, and her two hands were supported by an object. However, the cold and stiff body told them that she had passed away for sure.‎ The rescuers left this house and were going to search the next collapsed (倒塌的) building. I’d often come across men eager to chat up a girl traveling on her own. So I wasn’t surprised when he spoke up.‎ ‎ “Where are you going?” he asked.‎ ‎ “Rampur,” I replied and put on my earphones. He didn’t bother me after that.‎ ‎ It started to rain and water was dripping through the roof right on to my lap (怀里). Seeing that, the man emptied a plastic shopping bag full of clothes, which he pushed into his travel bag. He then handed me the plastic bag. I accepted it with a “thanks” before spreading it on my lap.‎ ‎ Minutes later, the bus broke down! The conductor announced we’d have to move to another bus that would reach us shortly, and that there had be no more buses after that, since there had been heavy snowfall near Shimla. Other passengers got off and stood on the road, ready to rush into the next bus. The conductor helped me offload my luggage.‎ ‎ When the bus finally arrived, it had many passengers already. The crowd struggled to get in and I was pushed aside. As I stood there feeling very upset, I saw a hand waving out to me from the entrance of the bus. It was the same young man. I passed my bags to him and he placed them inside one by one, as if we were family traveling together. He then gently helped me in. I soon got pushed to the middle of the bus, where I stood for the next two hours. As we approached Rampur, I looked for him. He was not there. He must have got off at an earlier stop without letting me know. He’d done what he had to. I was the one who couldn’t apologize for my attitude or thank him.‎ ‎ 8. But have you ever thought about having a steady income from the government while you are studying at school, even when you don’t have a job?‎ ‎ It was a real proposal which is called unconditional basic income(UBI) in Switzerland. It said that kids and young adults would get 625 CHF (4,270 yuan) a month, while adults would receive a basic income of 2,500 CHF, no matter whether they worked or not. This idea has caused controversy throughout Swiss society.‎ Supporters of the idea believe it would help to solve the problem of rising levels of income inequality Switzerland. A report shows that between 1996 and 2010, the wealthiest 1 percent of Switzerland’s population saw their incomes rise by 39 percent, while the incomes of the bottom earners rose by less than 10 percent. “Basic income means enough money to live without need,”a businessman Schmidt said in an interview with The Real News Network. “And in Switzerland 2,500 CHF is only a number ... It’s not to be rich. ”‎ ‎ But the proposal was refused on June 5 by 76.9 percent of Swiss people. Many said it showed how unpractical ideals look great but cannot work in the real world. ‎ Critics also warned that the idea would mean high costs. If UBI were fully introduced, it would cost about 208 million CHF, around three times current yearly government spending. Alain Berset, a Social Democrat member of the Swiss cabinet (内阁), told the Financial Times. “It’s not clear where the money for this basic income would come from.” So it may require to cut government spending or increase tax. ‎ ‎12. Believe it or not, I have also run into problems communicating with my parents. For instance, they don’t always listen to me or treat my opinions seriously. They also don’t often understand my perspective because of the differences between our generations in education and lifestyle.‎ Usually, I deal with these issues by constantly trying to persuade my parents to agree with me. In most cases, they see my point of view or start a conversation with me. Discussions have almost always worked out.‎ In your case, I would suggest that you keep your patience and talk reasonably to your parents. A compromise is always better than a quarrel. If you have more difficulties, you can always let me know, and I will be glad to help.‎ Best wishes,‎ Li Hua
