A. transport B. challenge C. expression D. communication 【答案】A 【解析】 【详解】考查名词辨析。 A. transport 交通工具;B. challenge挑战;C. expression表达,表情;D. communication交流。 A。 2.Either the beautiful sights of this modern city or its local custom____ thousands of visitors during the past years. A. have attracted B. were attracting C. has attracted D. was attracting 【答案】C 【解析】 【详解】考查现在完成时与主谓一致。 由“during the past years”可知,这句话使用现在完成时。“either…or…” 【点睛】during the past+时间段, in the the past +时间段,in the recent +时间段都表示到现在为止的前一段时间,时态都用现在完成时。 3.More and more countries have come to realize that the world____ do without Huawei and its "more advanced" technology. A. can’t B. needn’t C. mustn’t D. shouldn't 【答案】A 【解析】 【详解】考查情态动词。 A. can’t不能;B. needn’t不需要;C. mustn’t一定不能;D. shouldn't不应该。can’t do without意为“离不开”,为固定搭配。故选A。 4.Sometimes people from the south have difficulty understanding______ people from the north say. A. which B. what C. that D. how 【答案】B 【解析】 【详解】考查宾语从句。 例如本题中是用特殊疑问句(what do people from the north say)做宾语从句的,所以连接词选择what。 5.At one time French people banned borrowed words from English in order to keep their language pure and________. A. fluent B. various C. unique D. advanced 【答案】C 【解析】 【详解】考查形容词辨析。 C。 6.Scientists will produce plastic materials from beans, but right now the new product_____ in the lab. A. is being developed B. has been developed C. is developing D. has developed 【答案】A 【解析】 【详解】考查现在进行时的被动语态。 A。 7.The professor always spends the whole day in the bookshop_____ he bought the dictionary. A. on which B. to which C. in which D. for which 【答案】C 【解析】 【详解】考查定语从句。 从句部分完整的表述为he bought the dictionary in the bookshop. 将the bookshop替换为which,从句部分变为the bookshop in which he bought the dictionary或the bookshop which he bought the dictionary in。 关系副词when, where, why可以用适当的介词+which 来替代。 如:when=in/on/at…+which, where=in/on/at…+which, why=for+which。 本题考查的属于第一种情况,the bookshop是买书的地点状语,应该用副词where, where=in which。故选C。 8.The small action of littering may______ disaster for small animals and their living environment. A. lead to B. belong to C. refer to D. point to 【答案】A 【解析】 【详解】考查动词短语。 A. lead to导致,造成;B. belong to属于;C. refer to查阅,提到;D. point to指向,针对。 A。 9.Dad is busy with his essay on the SG networks Exactly. A. is giving B. was giving C. will be giving D. has been giving 【答案】C 【解析】 【详解】考查将来进行时。 C。 10.He managed to_______ a place in the final exam by working hard constantly. A. explore B. reserve C. award D. secure 【答案】D 【解析】 【详解】考查动词辨析。 A. explore探究;B. reserve预订;C. award授予,奖励;D. secure获得,取得。 Early in my teaching career, I heard countless(无数的 )excuses for why students didn’t have their homework. 由第二段中的“She tossed(抛) the book down to ease after the dog and five dollars fell out on the floor. Surprised, she began turning page after page”可知,她把书仍在地上想让狗停止叫却从书中掉出来五美元钱。 由第四段中的“In this way, it encouraged people to perform their own random acts of kindness.” 故选A。 由倒数第二段中的“In this way, it encouraged people to perform their own random acts of kindness.” 由最后一段中的“she hid notes and Starbucks gift cards in coffee shops, restaurants, and libraries”可知,它也会在图书馆藏纸条或者星巴克的礼卡。 C Someday, umbrellas may do more than just keep people dry. A researcher in the Netherlands has designed a simple sensor(传感器) that “listens”to rain. And that sensor can turn an umbrella into a rain-measuring expert. Tools like this can let anyone gauge the weather. That can help scientists make sure that satellites and radar(雷达)systems that track storms are doing a good job. “Rain radar is a beautiful way of seeing where rainfall is up in the air. But you never know where it hits the ground, "says Rolf Hut. He designed the umbrella sensor. Researchers want to know how much rain makes it to the planets surface. Not all rain that falls from a cloud reaches the ground. And it can be difficult for radar and satellites to measure that rain, particularly in cities. A host of big buildings can change how air and rain move during a storm. “It also explains why a single, expensive sensor-the kind that might be found at an official weather station-won’t give accurate( 精确的 )city-wide data, Hut says. But by putting a low-cost rain measuring tool into people's hands, scientists can learn more about how much rainfall differs in these and other hard-to-measure places. On the inside of the umbrella is a small, yellow disk (磁盘). It is the rainfall sensor. The sensor is attached to a black Bluetooth headset that sends the collected data to a smartphone. Hut came up with the idea to stick the same type of sensor on an umbrella when he was talking to kids about science. He showed them a photo of a policeman who was holding an umbrella and talking to a crowd in a microphone. Why not put the two together? He thought it could make a cool rainfall sensor . When a storm came through, Hut compared the umbrella’s new“ear”for rain to official rain measuring equipment. And to his delight, he found the umbrella's measurements were“pretty good. ” His next step is to improve the umbrella sensor to be more accurate 38. The purpose of this passage is to_______ A. promote a unique umbrella B. inform us of a new invention C. make readers interested in science D. praise a researcher for his Invention 39. The underlined word“gauge”in Paragraph 2 most probably means______ A. change B. control C. measure D. sense 40. Why can it be hard for official weather stations to measure the rain in cities? A. Big buildings influence the move of air and rain B. They are lacking in weather measuring equipment C. Rainfall differs hugely depending on various areas D. Their collected data cannot be sent to smartphones 41. What do we know about Huts new invention? A. Hut is not satisfied with his new invention at all B. Hut's invention is something useful but expensive. C. He got the idea when talking to kids about science D. A policeman in the rain helped Hut with the invention 【答案】38. B 39. C 40. A 41. 由第一段中的“that sensor can turn an umbrella into a rain-measuring expert”可知,这个传感器能将伞变成一个测量雨的专家,也就是说这样的伞能帮助人们测量雨。A. change改变;B. control控制;C. measure测量;D. sense感知。 由第四段中的“A host of big buildings can change how air and rain move during a storm.” 故选A。 由倒数第二段中的“Hut came up with the idea to stick the same type of sensor on an umbrella when he was talking to kids about science.” D The weather was bad during the latter days of the voyage. 故选A。 选项E中的the freedom of it与这句话中描述的跑步的好处相呼应,且it与running是指代关系。 As English learners, we have the alphabet clearly in our mind, in order, from a very young age. I’m excited to stand here to share the travel into the past and the future with my Time Machine. Back to the past, I witnessed Alexander the Great king defeating cities and states, causing pain and death and the Loulan Kingdom, different from what you have seen now, was an ecological and livable state. What a terrible sight I saw in the distant future! I never dreamed, as human beings, the Morlocks should have killed and eaten the Eloi cruelly and greedily instead of living in harmony. When going further into the future, I found there was no life or movement on the Earth. What I have learnt from my travel is that mankind needs peace rather than war. And nature should be respected and protected. Thank you! 第二步:列提纲 (重点词组) the travel into the past and the future(穿越到过去和将来的旅行);defeating cities and states(征服城市和国家);ecological and livable state(环境优美、生机勃勃的国家);living in harmony(和谐地生活);rather than(而不是);in the distant future (在遥远的将来);travel with(用…… 作者在范文中使用了较多句式和高级词汇,如:第二段首句使用了现在分词做宾语补足语(witnessed Alexander the Great keep defeating cities and states),现在分词作状语(causing……)以及宾语从句(different from what you have seen now)。
