His parents divorced when he was three. Later, Murphy and his brother had to be in foster(收养) care for over a year due to his mother’s illness. Eddie Murphy says that he used the time at the foster home to develop his sense of humor. His mother then married Vernon Lynch,‎ ‎ after which they moved to Roosevelt, Long Island.‎ In his formative years, Murphy spent hours in front of the television, watching old movies and cartoons, thus developing a love for performing, by imitating Bugs Bunny, Bullwinkle and Sylvester. He attended the Roosevelt High School, where he rose in popularity, thanks to his briefcase full of joke-books. On August 19, the executive editor of the Quad-City Times in Iowa, and Illinois, US visited her website, qutimes. com, and saw a story about a man who had been shot to death. When she got to the readers’ comments section at the end, she was shocked by what she saw. Below the story was a growing string of comments—a racist remark about democratic( 民主的) voters, a negative comment about police...So Phillips decided to do something she had been thinking about for a long time: she shut down the comment section.‎ Phillips was not alone in making such a move. Last week, NPR announced it too was closing its online comments section. The decisions don’t mean that the news outlets are no longer interested in what their audiences are thinking. Both stressed their eagerness to hear from readers and listeners on social networks. But both agreed that comments had deviated from their original intention. And so they had.‎ In the early days of digital journalism, comments were seen as a key part of the new media, a wonderful opportunity for strengthening the dialogue between news producers and their audiences. It was a welcome change, given that for long many news organizations were far too separated from their readers. Much more back and forth conversation seemed like healthy and welcome evolutions. Sadly, that’s not the way things turned out. Rather than a place for exchanging ideas, comments sections became the home of ugly name-calling, racism and anti-women language. Besides their poisonous quality, comments seem out of place today.‎ ‎“Since we made the announcement, I’ve received an outpouring of responses from our readers,”she says. “I’ve heard from parents whose children were hurt by our online comments. I’ve heard from people who said they wouldn’t send in letters to the editor because they were attacked so fiercely by comments, and it wasn’t worth it.”‎ ‎27. Why did Autumn Phillips shut down the comments section?‎ A. It was put to wrong use.‎ B. A man had been shot to death C. It exposed many illegal issues.‎ D. Her website was attacked heavily.‎ ‎28. What does the underlined sentence in Paragraph 3 indicate about comments?‎ A. They had gone out of date.‎ B. They were full of sensitive information.‎ C. They had gone against their initial purpose.‎ D. They couldn’t interest the audience.‎ ‎29. What was the welcome change in the early digital journalism?‎ A. Readers’ making fewer negative comments.‎ B. Readers’ active involvement in the news industry.‎ C. Readers’ freedom to express their thoughts.‎ D. Readers’ having more access to various media.‎ ‎30. What is the best title of the passage?‎ A. Stop hurting people online B. More comment sections closed online ‎ C. Racists coming from nowhere D. A move by Autumn Phillips 第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)‎ 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项(A、B、C、D、E、F、G)中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。‎ How to drive greener Buying green car produces great benefits. 31 . I was driving to the local grocery store because the heat had made my bananas go from yellow to brown overnight. My air conditioner in my car was on high, but it still wasn’t cooling me down. Suddenly, the car in ‎ front of me signaled that it was pulling off. I pressed on the brakes and slowed down. Out of the corner of my eye I saw several teenagers standing in the summer sun. They weren’t playing, killing time, or hanging around though. They weren’t drinking, smoking, chatting, or looking at their cell phones. They were working on a porch(走廊). ‎ I recognized them immediately as one of the church work camps. For more years than I can remember these young men and women have volunteered their spring and summer vacations to come here and help repair the homes of poor people. I smiled when I saw them there sweating and working hard to do some good in this world. While the news headlines were so full of murder, hate, and violence in our society, these young people were doing their best o share some love and light with others. In my heart and mind I heard the words once again: “I was hungry and you gave me food; I was a stranger and you welcomed me; I was naked(裸体的) and you gave me clothing; I was sick and you took care of me.”‎ There is so much good we can do in this life. There are so many people we can help. There is so much love we can share. And as long as there is life, there is more to do. Whether it is repairing a house, sharing a smile, offering a hug, adopting a dog, visiting the sick, giving to charity, praying for others, sharing a kind word, or doing any act of goodness, every single thing we do is precious in the eyes of people.‎ 注意:‎ ‎1. ‎ Paragraph 1:‎ Nowadays loving each other is a good deed and common in the society.__________________________‎ ‎_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________‎ Paragraph 2:‎ Choose to love, and you will help others._________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________‎ 南安一中2019~2020学年度高二年上学期第二次阶段考 英语科参考答案 听力:1-5 BCCCA 6-10 BBACB 11-15 CABBA 16-20 CCBCA 阅读:21—23ABD 24—26 BAB 27—30ACBB 31—35 DEAGF 完形:36-40 DBCAA 41-45 BDBDB 46-50 ACCAC 51-55 DCBA D 课文填空:56. be laid off; went blank 57. Most of my colleagues call me Charm for short. I’m 27 now. Here is my understanding of challenges in life. ‎ The main challenge I’ve faced[17] in this university in Canada is learning more about myself. I’m doing [18]social work. It involves a lot of self-criticism in exploring who you are and what you believe in. Other challenges, like working full time and getting papers in are difficult. But knowing who you are and standing up for what you believe in is [19]the most challenging journey. In 10 years, I would like to be in a position which would allow me to work directly [20]with children and youth. To be exact, I would love to work in the field of children’s rights. And perhaps I would even take on a political career. If I didn’t have to earn a living to survive, I would help social justice groups to fight for equal services. Abroad, I would travel back to the Ukraine and Brazil and help out the poorest families. Most of all, I would listen to stories and share stories of hope.‎
