However, Britain is quite an expensive place to study and live in. Tuition fees have now reached £ 9,250 a year and students also face some of the highest living costs in the world.Fortunately, there are a number of countries where universities offer degree programs entirely in English, along with the chance to learn the local language while you live there. Here are three of the options broken down in detail.‎ University of Amsterdam The Dutch capital is not a cheap city to live in, but standard tuition fees of £ 1,800 a year make it significantly cheaper than a British degree. There are 14 bachelor’s degrees on offer that are taught in English, including Political Science, Economics & Business Economics and Actuarial Science. Nearly all Dutch people speak English, making it an easy country to get by in.‎ Tianjin University Moving to China is not for the faint-hearted. Undergraduate degree courses at Tianjin last four years. Living costs are only around £ 400 a month and tuition fees are £ 2,300 a year. Flights will cost £ 3,600 over the four years. The total cost, at £ 28,800, is still around half that of a three-year degree in Britain. Tianjin is one of the world’s latest cities and is only a half-hour train ride from Beijing. Three undergraduate programs are offered in English: Chemical Engineering, Environment & Energy and Pharmaceutical Science.‎ University of Milan The University of Milan’s fees range from £ 140 to £3,650 a year. It delivers those products to customers electronically, by mail and by other delivery services.‎ In March, federal officials gave Amazon permission to test its drone delivery plan. But even with a patent and the ability of drones to make deliveries, it does not appear they will put its new delivery system in place any time soon. The U.S. Patent Office published the document. It describes Amazon’s plans to use the Global Positioning System, or GPS, to deliver products to homes and to wherever people are.‎ The drone will use a customer’s mobile device-usually a smart phone-to avoid hitting people or buildings and to identify a safe area to land. The company wants to deliver products within 30 minutes of people ordering them on its website.‎ Amazon is not yet offering drone delivery. But Professor Alkalay says it will not be long before it does. “I do think that in the reasonable future they’re going to start doing deliveries. We already see deliveries being done in disaster areas, in remote areas. I think there’s huge demand for that type of delivery.”‎ Professor Alkalay says there are concerns that the drones will crash into objects or people, or that the products and drones will be stolen or intentionally damaged. But she says that is because many people believe the drones would only deliver the products to the front door of a house. “If you think of drone delivery perhaps to your rooftop, then you would have an opportunity to separate the pedestrian and the vehicular traffic, and at the same time separateit from air traffic.”‎ Professor Alkalay notes that American homes are not currently able to receive deliveries on ‎ their roof tops. However, it is possible that homes will one day have special areas on their roofs designed to receive products deliveries.‎ ‎28.What can we learn from the passage?‎ A. Amazon has put its new delivery system in place.‎ B. Amazon wants to deliver products within 20 minutes.‎ C. American home can’t receive deliveries on their roof tops now.‎ D. Amazon is the second largest online seller of products in America.‎ ‎29.How can the drone land in a safe area without hitting people or buildings?‎ A. By using a customer’s smart phone.‎ B. By using the website of the delivery company.‎ C. By using the Global Positioning System.‎ D. By using the mobile device placed in the delivery company.‎ ‎30.The underlined word “it” in Para.5 refers to “_________”.‎ A. the rooftop B. drone delivery ‎ C. the vehicular traffic D. the front door of a house ‎31. What is the theme of the passage?‎ A. Amazon delivers products electronically.‎ B. Amazon receives patent for drone delivery system C. Amazon is trying to make its drone technology safe.‎ D. Amazon-a U.S.-based online seller of products.‎ D Sucking blood is a risky business. At least for the female mosquitoes that need those nutrients to feed their developing eggs. Not only do they have to find a suitable blood donor, but once they’ve had their fill, they have to be able to escape unnoticed. How they handle this secret departure skillfully has just been revealed in the “Journal of Experimental Biology”.‎ Feasting on an unsuspecting mammal can double a mosquito’s body mass. So how does a fully loaded female mosquito leave the host’s skin without triggering(触发) its pressure sensors and bring on that fateful slap(拍击)?To find out, Florian Muijres of Wageningen University in the Netherlands ‎ and his colleagues used cameras to film how the 63 blood-fed mosquitoes took off.‎ What they discovered is, when it comes to a soft yet speedy getaway...for female mosquitoes, the wing’s the thing. With a wingbeat frequency of about 600 beats per second, they are able to lift themselves lightly off their hosts.‎ When most flying animals take off, like birds or flies, they first use their legs to push off very hard, and then when they are in the air, they start beating their wings and produce aerodynamic lift(气动升力) to be able to fly away. Mosquitoes do it the other way around. They first start beating their wings and through the aerodynamic forces these wings produce, their body is being lifted off. And then they do gently push down with their long legs to be able to further power their liftoff. But these forces that are being produced by the legs are relatively small.‎ In fact, the flutter(振动) of a mosquito’s wings produces less than one third of the force used by similar-sized fruit flies as they leave to find another banana. “Even on a full stomach, these bloodsuckers’ takeoff process takes only about 30 milliseconds, which is 10 times faster than how fast we can blink(眨眼) our eyes,” says Muijres. They’re gone before we know what hit us and before we can hit them.‎ ‎32.What does the passage mainly talk about?‎ A. How mosquitoes get nutrients for their developing eggs.‎ B. How mosquitoes can find their suitable blood donors.‎ C. How mosquitoes escape unnoticed after sucking blood.‎ D. How the female mosquitoes find their perfect partners.‎ ‎33.What plays the most important part in helping mosquitoes escape?‎ A. Their legs B. Their ears C. Their mouths D. Their wings ‎34.Mosquitoes’ takeoff approach is different from that of most other winged insects in ‎ that_______.‎ A. mosquitoes are keen on sucking blood.‎ B. mosquitoes are lighter that them.‎ C. mosquitoes take off first with wings and then legs.‎ D. mosquitoes take off through the aerodynamic forces.‎ ‎35.From what Muijres said, we know mosquitoes’ escape speed is.‎ A. extremely fast B. greatly affected by their full stomach..‎ C. equal to that of our blink. D. faster than that of fruit lies.‎ 第二节(共5小题,每小题2分,满分10分)‎ 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。‎ Types of Family Structures Family structure has changed noticeably over the last 50 years. _36_‎ Nuclear Family The nuclear family is the traditional type of family structure, consisting of two parents and children. _37_ Children in nuclear families receive strength and stability from the two-parent structure and generally have more opportunities due to the financial ease of two adults In America, almost 70 percent of children live in a nuclear family unit.‎ Extended Family The extended family structure consists of two or more adults who are related, either by blood or marriage, living in the same home.
