Warm-up ‎1. greetings When students walk into the classroom, greet them: Hello, everybody. Welcome boys and girls.‎ ‎2. text introduction Let the students open sixty-sixth pages of the textbook. Tell them that they are going to read another story about little Qi Ke today.‎ Step 2. Presentation Pre-reading activities Look at the picture and discuss what the middle school students see in each picture. Write the main points of the student's narration on the blackboard. Help the students by asking questions.‎ Where does Little Zeke live?‎ Is Tess Little Zeke 's friend?‎ Why does Little Zeke feel sad this evening?‎ Does Mrs. Jones know Little Zeke?‎ What does Little Zeke write to Mrs. Jones?‎ Does Mrs. Jones give Little Zeke a gift at last?‎ What does Mrs. Jones give to Little Zeke?‎ Reading activities Discuss pictures Now, read the story by the picture to help the students understand the story.‎ Figure 1‎ This is Emma's classroom. Pointing to Emma's desk. Can you see little Qi Ke hidden in the desk? He slept in the socks in Emma's desk.‎ Figure 2‎ Little Qi Ke has a friend, Tess. Tess brought food to little Qi Ke in the morning. What does he eat? Hamburger and milk. A wire to put food in Emma's desk.‎ Figure 3‎ A party was held in the classroom today. Their teacher, Ms. Jones, bought a gift for everyone. She bought a book for Tom. Tom likes it very much. But there's no gift from little Qi Ke. He is very sad now.‎ Figure 4‎ Ms. Jones bought a red ball to Emma. Emma said, "thank you!" She likes the red ball very much.‎ Figure 5‎ Ms. Jones also gave Tess a gift. What is it? A new color crayon. Tess drew a picture with her new crayon.‎ Figure 6‎ Little Qi Ke looked at it all. He also wants a gift. But Ms. Jones didn't know him. Little Qi Ke speaks only to Emma and Tess.‎ Figure 7‎ What does little Qi Ke do now? He wrote a note to Ms. Jones. He told Ms. Jones who he was. He said he lived in Emma’s desk.‎ Figure 8‎ Little Qi Ke saw a gift. There is a card from Ms. Jones. It was written on the card that this was a gift from little Qi Ke. He quickly opened the gift. What is it? It's a small bed for him to sleep.‎ Figure 9‎ Little Qi Ke is not sad now. He was happy. He wrote a few words on the blackboard and thanked the teacher for giving him the bed. He's going to bed now. It's not time to go to sleep in the socks. No It's time to go to bed and sleep!‎ Step 3. Practice Listen to the story Play story recordings. Listen to the students.‎ Listen again and repeat all the students.‎ Now, let the brave man take turns reading the story.
