Module 11　Way of life 模块同步语法精讲精练 情态动词 must ， can ， need 与 had better ► must 的用法 ① must 没有人称和数的变化，后接动词原形，表示义务或必要性时，意为 “ 应该，必须 ” 。 must 引导的一般疑问句肯定回答用 must ，否定回答用 needn't 或 don't/doesn't/didn't have to ，不能用 mustn't 。 ② mustn't 用在否定句中，意为 “ 禁止 ” 。 【 拓展辨析 】must 与 have to ①must 和 have to 都表示 “ 必须 ” ，但 must 强调说话人的主观看法，而 have to 强调客观情况迫使某人不得不做某事。 eg ： You must study hard. 你必须努力学习。 He had to look after his mother.She was ill. 他妈妈生病了，他不得不照顾她。 ② have to 要随着人称和时态的变化而变化。 ► can 的用法 ① can 表示一种能力，意为 “ 能，会，行 ” ，其过去式是 could 。 ②表示请求、许可，意为 “ 可以 ” ，相当于 may 。 ► need 的用法 ① need 作情态动词无人称或数的变化，后接动词原形，多用于否定句和疑问句中。 eg ： You needn't worry. 你不必担心。 ②由 need 引出的一般疑问句，肯定回答常用 must 或 have to ；否定回答常用 needn't 。 ③ need 作行为动词有人称和数的变化，后面可接名词、代词、动名词及带 to 的动词不定式；可用于肯定句、疑问句和否定句中。 ► had better 的用法 had better“ 最好 ” ，用于表示对别人的劝告、建议或表示一种愿望。其用法有以下几点： ① had better 后跟动词原形 ( 即不带 to 的不定式 ) ，构成 had better do sth. 句型。 eg ： You'd better go to hospital at once. 你最好立即去医院看病。 ② had better 的否定形式是将否定副词 not 直接放在 had better 的后面。 一、单项选择。 1 ． — Can we run across the road now? —No ， we ________ ． We have to wait until the light turns green.
